    TINY WHITE KITTY!

Is he / she full grown? I have a little one who must have been a runt and always stayed that way. She's so small!

That picture is when she was a little younger. She’s grown since then but I don’t think she is done growing yet. She’s 9 months old now. I still have no idea what breed she is either lol.

Maybe I missed it above but what’s the prescription food for? Hairball control? Suki is on prescription wet and dry but we now get it from chewy. Louisa, who’s a very picky eater, rates the same dry as Suki but she hates wet food. Vet had us switch her off of it last year to something the gave her more calories and instantly had allergy to it. Fortunately our vet allows returns on opened bags of food. They have a boarding facility there so they probably use the food there.

Curious what everyone's thoughts are on introducing additional cats into a solo male cat household? Anyone have experiences with this positive or negative? Obviously a proper acclamation period would be needed regardless.

I would consider our cat to be fairly dominant only because I've seen his interaction with my mom's smaller dog (maybe 15lb?) and a daschund she was watching brought over and while he is curious they were scared of him and he gave off the "you're a large toy to me" vibe.

usually its easier to introduce a female into the males domicile. but really depends on the temperament of the cat, some take to it right away, some dont ever take to it. hard to say really, i know after a few weeks together you will see if they get along or not..

In the past three years I have introduced two new cats to my household. Both were small kittens which made the transition to additional cats in the home a lot easier. When you are introducing an adult cat to an existing adult cat household it can be completely hit or miss.
Existing adult cats find small kittens less threatening. This is been the case when I introduced Ollie to Auggie and Ponce, and when I introduced Harry to Auggie and Ollie.
In any case it should be a gradual introduction with lots of praise and positive reinforcement with treats.

I really lucked out, Ollie and Harry have literally become the best of friends.

Glad to hear they are making themselves at home so quickly.

Glad to hear Henry is doing well. Cats really do have the strangest sleeping positions. :)

So sorry to hear this. :pout:

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like an awesome vet and person in general.
My vet was similar but unfortunately he retired and I just have not been able to find another one that I feel the same way about. I wish I lived hear you.

We had a solo male who was about 1 1/2 years old, and we integrated a 6 month old female..Both fixed.

We kept the female in our study after setting it up for her. She was pretty much feral, but we let her go at her own pace at getting used to us and the new smells of her surroundings.

Both sniffed at the door a lot. But we didn't let them actually see each other for about a week or so.

We finally let them see each other, and our male cat was curious but that's about it.

The female took 5 weeks before she left the room that we had made up for her. She's a very timid little thing. The male was curious but fine with her.
We still kept an eye on them to make sure that they got along. But we were lucky, they didn't have any territorial issues.

I think the key is not to force it. If you do, them there can be long term issues between them that won't go away.

How old is your current cat? Older cats that have been solo might disrupt their routines too much.

With Bella and Breezy, we kept them separated for 3 days which Bella ( 1.5-yr old ) used to decompress from the crowded rescue she was at. She literally crawled under the spare bed's covers block out the light and muffle noise. After three days, she was READY to explore. Breezy, at 10-yr old, is not so much interested in twice a day play time that Bella is. It's likely a combination of too soon and age gap for us, but we're still dealing with Breezy's defensive growling and Bella's "enough is enough" attitude that results in some chasing and aggression. It's gotten better, slowly.

Always a good question....according to our adoption paperwork he would be around 2 now, but our vet guesstimates closer to 4.

I actually lean more towards senior adoption over the youngsters, but may want to wait till after summer when we're more committed to being at home for supervision purposes.
