I feel for all of you dealing with the pee pad/pee outside the box issues! We went thru it for over six years before our pee-cat passed. It was a daily occurrance. I hated coming home each day just knowing Id have to clean up 'something.' But I did it. Every. Damn. Day. It was worth it while he was around. But I will say... (and this sounds horrible!) but since he's passed, its been a lot of stress relief on both of us... We still deal with four in/outdoor cats but they do go in their box. and they run and play at the wrong times of the night. But we would not have changed anything for any of them!

We only have Abigail. I told the wife when she passes I don't want another cat for a while. The wife will want one sooner than me since she's the cat person.

I agree with you @Cuffs about dreading coming home to cleaning/replacing the pee-pee pad but I do like her.. Just gets old FAST.

Yea... we said No More! a few years ago. Then we bought this home. Apparently its a thing to come with a cat... (the formerly feral that I was "supposed" to adopt out...)

My wife already has plans to adopt another after Albert is gone. The part that gets me is when he even misses the pad and it migrates under the pad, litter boxes and sometime wash and dryer. This all happens when I get up at 4:30 am for work. Wife thinks it's time to put him down just because we are starting to resent him. He's not suffering or anything so I told her we need to stick it out a bit just since it a commitment we made and it's not about what's best for us. I see when I get home at the end of the week she might do it herself. She's got a temper Hag in there pee pad gang.

So.... Abigail went pee-pee on 4 pads last night (we changed them - she didn't pee on the same pad). Well I done fucked up. I bought pee-pee pads that have an attractant in them.. Damn it. Wondered why she was going so much. (started yesterday morning with the 1st one.. then after work. then before dinner.. then before bed. then this morning)

Off to Costco after work today to get the 100 pads.

Actually 2 of them. His actual sister was also a Siamese and that's what caused us to become big fans of them. Unfortunately, Alberts sister, Max, passed away about 4 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. She was just one of those very special, once in a life time, cats

I kind of sorta just inherited a cat. Poor fella must have been dropped off nearby. Anyone have tips for getting the cat to allow me to pet it so that I can check it for ticks and apply the chemical free repellant on it? I think we're making progress it seems less afraid of me because it slowly runs away. It would be nice to be able to get it to come over so I can worm it and get it a rabies shot. 20170630_172752.jpg

    Pre-plan and be ready.

We had a family of kittens living under our barn. Lady behind us managed to catch all but one - that last calico was pretty wily. We started leaving food for her at the sliding glass door. Over the course of several weeks she became brave enough to eat out of our hands...provided only the hand came out that door crack and not the rest of us.

One day, I put down a large outdoor carpet. That afternoon when she came to eat, I quickly pinned her to the ground by her shoulders. She was on the mat, and she couldn't bite me. I grabbed a laundry basket I had stashed, nudged open the door, and completed the trap. Once I dragged her into the house and closed the door she gave up.

First thing have it checked for feline leukemia/ aids! Give it time and they gain trust for you. As far as handling grab it by the scruff on the back of its neck and they tend to just relax a little. The mama cat carries them that way so Ive heard it's calming for them. I'm not implying to dangle it off the ground just lift up a little. Sure is a cute little guy!!! Good luck and kudos for taking him in. It's a lot of responsibility and expensive. I just spent a grand on mine and would do it again if it meant keeping her around without suffering any.

Grabbing them by the neck when they're kittens is fine. When they are adults it hurts them. That's what I have heard.
