    Correct.

F1 means 1 gen away from Serval (parent)
F2 means 2 gen away (grandparent)
    F3 (great grandparent)

    And so on.

Farthest removed I’ve seen is F8 and they just look like regular house cats with cool markings to me. May as well go rescue a stray at that point instead of dropping thousands on a cat that has less than 10% of Wild Serval gene in it. Only reason I got Jaxson was because I live in CA and he’s the closest to a Serval LEGALLY you can have here. Servals are actually less expensive because the demand is lower (because they aren’t legally in many states). Jaxson is ~55% Serval. He is a cross between his Serval dad and his F3 mother.

When my Jaxson leaves this Earth many years from now, I’ll be long gone from CA and I will get a Serval with a full indoor and outdoor enclosure.

Ahaha unfortunately he is fixed - part of the legal agreement between the breeder and I. Unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount more for breeding rights - which I wouldn’t because breeding these incredible cats isn’t something you take lightly. So much can go wrong and make a good healthy bloodline become and absolute train wreck.

My breeder has 25 years experience and it’s her life’s work. She is retired. Even with how expensive they are, she barely breaks even after putting so much time, effort, and money back into her cattery.

My girls are fixed as well. No kittens for these two. Curious as to why you had Jason fixed since he can't reproduce anyways. My understanding was that F1 thru F4 males are sterile. Hopefully there's a good reason and you didn't throw money away and cut his nuts off for nothing.

Hmmm, that’s the first I’ve ever heard that but that wasn’t my reasoning - I hated doing it as I’ve never had any of my male dogs fixed.

I had him fixed by the breeders recommendation so he wouldn’t spray constantly. I put it off despite her warning and then he started to around 13 months old, so I had him fixed.

Jaxson gets fed a raw ground chicken + fortified liver powder mix multiple times per day. Regular house cats can absolutely eat it too (great for them as well), but they need to slowly be switched over.

What does that have to do with this picture? Well, this is Dad catching him trying to steal the bag of chicken thawing in the sink for the second time today. Yes, he’s done it before and can throw around 5lb bags of chicken from Costco like it’s nothing lol.

Stormy has a little cut on his forehead :( I think it was from playing around with Boots yesterday.

Any recommendations so it doesn't get worse? We were going to see what we can put on it but they lick each other (like cleaning) and we don't want Boots to lick Stormy's head and get whatever we put on the cut to go into his mouth.

Clean it with peroxide then put honey on it. I know it sounds crazy but it works well.

This is what vcahospitals recommends https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/care-of-open-wounds-in-cats

How should I manage an open wound at home?
Following the specific instructions of your veterinarian, clean the wound two to three times daily with a mild antiseptic solution or warm water to remove any crusted discharge and keep wound edges clean. Do not clean the wound with hydrogen peroxide, witch hazel, or alcohol.

The wound may be bandaged to protect it from further contamination, or to prevent your cat from excessively licking it. Daily bandage changes, as demonstrated by your veterinarian, may be required if there is a lot of discharge from the wound.

The reason they recommend not using hydrogen peroxide or alcohol on the wounds is these will actually damage the cat's tissue.

The morning routine. He’s either on the coffee table or in my lap kneading a blanket waiting for me to finish my coffee and feed him.

Notice the eye contact lol. He watches my every move loves to be talked to.

Hahahaha... If you quickly glance at the picture you uploaded it looks like your coffee cup is being levitated by your cat's superpower stare.
