It's pretty neat. Has all of the windows and indoor features a normal tent would have.
    Thanks!

In his “counter” window. We got tired of fighting him getting on the counters so put up the shade a few weeks ago. He knows he can go up there so when we catch him on the counters he immediately runs for the window. No papa, I was just going to my window. I’m allowed there, you said so! Smart little shit.

For the counter-surfing cats... They dont do it in the day when Im home, they know Id be after them in a heartbeat. They do get up there after we go to bed. We can hear the 'thud' as they hit the floor after making sure we've put away all food bits...

I certainly was not going to try the mouse trap prevention method that Id heard of. I hear tin foil laid across the surface startles them and they dont like the sound, but I wasnt going to waste the material. We DO have an abundance of of lint rollers though. Just before bed, I took a strip of sticky roller paper and laid them near the edge of the countertop, sticky side up. And waited...

When the toe beans hit the sticky! Hahahahaha! You could hear them shaking their legs, rattling the paper violently to get the paper off, hit the ground running and shaking until it fell off after a few steps.

Next time Im going to set up the game cam to catch the antics! And they havent been on the counters since!

Fortunately ours don't care about food (except their dry food). It's like they are immune to people food. I don't know but I'm not mad lol

Ours get up on the counter to look at the window (by the sink). I put up one of my Blink XT2 cameras and watched them hop up and look around the counter then go to the window. They are also interested in the sink.

My wife tried the sticky double-sided tape at the edges but they weren't bothered by it. I think they jumped up and realized it was there so the next time they jumped up and basically skipped the tape lol She also tried the aluminum foil method and it didn't work.

They haven't been up on the counter much lately. Maybe they are bored with it? She did catch Stormy on the counter over the weekend and Boots was around the corner being a lookout for him lol

Same with our 2. Thank goodness!

Previous cats over the years were breadaholics. Bagels, muffins, etc. CTM* right on top of the loaf or push off counter, drop and roll, then eat.

    CTM = cat tooth marks

Nova is obsessed with bread. I didn't realize that was a cat thing. I just thought she was weird.

Oh wow with the CTM's! Yikes

Our previous cat (Abigail) would definitely beg for food when we were eating dinner or snacks but she would never get on the counters to search for food. I remember she would lick the orange sherbet ice cream my wife would eat. RIP :( She was a handful at the end with her issues but I still miss her.

I'll be honest.. I was never a cat person growing up. My parents had dogs (mom was deathly afraid of them) but when I met my wife her family only had cats. Her parents cats grew on me and I became a cat person.

I’ve never encouraged mine to use the counters. We don’t leave food out.

Emma loves green veggies. Green beans, peas, Brussels sprouts... loves them, and crawfish too.
    Elliot’s thing is sour cream.
All four love their cat treats.
But Olivia... she’s a whore for cheese or butter. I’d she hears any plastic, it automatically means cheese. She knows the clank of the butter dish.

This one is totally my fault. I left butter out to soften for a recipe... no CTMs, just tongue print...

My property cats I rescued from some weirdo on Craigslist. They’re about 4 months old at most. Living the life now in the woods and have a badass heated house outside to sleep in at night.

Otis doesn’t get on counters for food, he just likes/wants to sit up there like it’s any other surface. With people food, he just smells it and walks away. He is motivated by curiosity more then anything else.

For the longest he didn’t get on counters (we had four zap mats) until he realized he only needed three inches to stand or sit. Eventually he would literally half sit, half stand next to a mat and just chill like that.

Spray bottle has the same result. He moves when sprayed, gets back up. He’s better with the window shade open now but will always be a slave to his curiosity. Most stubborn animal I have ever met. Guess it’s fair, he puts up with a lot of our shit too. :notsure:

He’s less of a pet and more of a roommate. If you ask him, he’s the landlord though.
