Cats don't get to 19 without a fantastic home. You did right by her for sure. I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm sure Spanky had a great life with you.

Suki wouldn’t tolerate that for a second. If Amos gets within 2’ of her space she lashes out. She’d probably be happier in a single cat household. She knows thought that she’s the “princess” of the house.

Okay cat people. Looking for some advice. I have an 80lb American Bulldog who just found out that cat poo tastes great. Any litter box recommendations to keep her out? Was thinking this or this. Easiest would be to elevate the litter box but I don't really have the means to do that. I'm leaning towards the top-entry one because it's supposed to help reduce litter tracking and I feel like the dog would be able to knock the top cover off of the stepped dome..

I can post a cat-tax when I get off work in the morning.

My wife says the dog is possibly missing something from his diet. Also putting a cone of shame on the dog will work the best.

Dogs eating cat poo isn't necessarily a diet/nutrition issue, plus we've gone over her diet previously with the vet. I'd prefer to just change the litter box before I go making my dog's entire life difficult by putting a cone on her 24/7.

Next plan would be to keep the dog locked out of the room via baby gate probably. Anything after that, we'll see if it comes to that. Changing out the litter box has the least impact on everybody involved.

I would put it in a box with a lock down top and a pet door the pup can't fit its head through.

I did see something like that in my search..

That could be definitely be an option (with a cat flap that isn't $100+ like the one in the video though)...

What the hell is so special about that door that makes it a 100 bucks. It runs on batteries, which means they will die and kitty will either get locked in or locked out at some point.

Yeah, I'm not sure. It's supposed to be for indoor/outdoor cats, and only let in animals with microchips that are 'registered' to the door. Don't know why you would ever use it for the litter box application like in the video.

I could maybe see it if you had multiple cats and wanted a specific stool sample to take to the vet. Could maybe lock it so only that one chip can be programmed into the door.

Agreed. But so do truck mods to most wives.
