This guy just showed up on my porch this week, have not yet decided if we are going to keep him. I don't really care for care for cats but this one seems ok.

Be careful with cats in the washing machine, I read this article a few months back it was very sad!

I hope that doesn't mean that you are just going to toss him back outside. Please at least take him to your vet to see if he has a chip, and maybe try to place him with a friend.

You'd be surprised at how loyal they can turn into once they're comfortable in their new home and if they've selected you as their favorite hooman, they'll be hanging around you constantly. Granted, their not dogs, but they are generally less maintenance and you will be providing your dog another companion and so far it looks like they're getting along.

If you do choose not keep him and after you've had a vet check for a chip, foster him until you ( or a rescue you choose to work with ) to find a new home. But for the love of God, don't toss him back on the streets because he came to you for help.

All our dogs are rescues, we love animals in general. But unfortunately our are has tons of cats running around. So we will see what the wife wants to do with him. I just don’t have any real attachment to cats unfortunately. We may end up letting him be an indoor/outdoor cats, if that would work
