Yeah, but I very much doubt batting a paper husk around the kitchen floor is going to hurt her. :notsure:

That was kinda my point. Almost every cat I’ve seen eventually bites or chews on their “toy.” There’s also a difference between dropping it and watching for a few seconds before taking it away. The one I’d be concerned with is dropping it or throwing it down and then ignoring it or forgetting about it. The problem is, our pets can’t say what’s wrong. Even if it’s just a stomach ache until it passes, there’s no way to know that. I just don’t like to take those risks of even making ours sick when he can’t tell me that.

Eh. I was in the kitchen with her, cooking breakfast, so I was keeping an eye on her. And I picked it up and tossed it in the trash with the rest of the husks before I left for work. That one just missed the can the first time, so it was immediately pounced on. But after Smokey jumped off of the couch and exploded her tail she lost interest in it pretty quickly and attacked him instead.

Fair enough. For my part, I wasn’t trying to lecture, just a lot out there that people don’t know is bad for cats. Also it’s not always the same for dogs and cats. They all have their special list. I was more concerned if you didn’t know or just left it.

For what it’s worth, I’d let your kids play with a chainsaw. I just happen to like animals more then people.

Believe me, after spending $350 on her this past fall we keep a pretty close eye on her.

yeah I can't give Harley hair ties anymore even though he loves them and I never see him as happy as when he has a hair tie to play with (no idea why).

But he eventually eats them and then I worry about them getting stuck in his insides, so we have to keep hair ties under lock and key. Literally. If he sees a purse on the table he'll find a way to open it and look for a hair tie.

We had to go buy plastic q-tips because Otis always steals my wife’s when she gets ready in the morning. He tosses it from the counter into the water. Now he gets a fresh plastic one once a week.

I have one that literally hunts my hair ties down. I’ve had to make sure I don’t leave any out in the bathroom now. Bc lil shit finds them and knocks them off in to the floor.

I had one that liked to reach under the kitchen cupboard door and pull out the plastic trash bags....until he somehow got the handle of a bag around his head!

He took off like the devil himself had a hold of his tail.

Luckily it was winter and the outside door was closed, and I was home.
There was no catching him with that bag on him!

I just went to a bedroom mid hallway and waited till he came tearing down the hall again, jumped out in front of him and scared him even more, took advantage of the pause and snatched the bag off his back and when he pulled back to escape demon bag it came off from around his neck.

    Bwahahaaaa
    Good good kwazy kitty times.

I moved the bags up a shelf after that so he couldnt reach them from under the door when its closed.

Came home and instead of bags all over the kitchen, all the dog cookies from the top shelf were on the ground and the cat looking all innocent, dogs looking all bloated.

Put on a door lock after that.

That cat was a ball o fire.
    Always something with that one!

Speaking of hair ties, both of the Rexes love them. The orange one likes to play goalie, either batting them back to me or jumping in all kinds of awkward ways to catch them. He also plays catch, bringing them back to me to throw again.

I get some weird looks from the ladies when I buy hair ties (being nearly bald). The looks don't get any less odd when I explain that they are cat toys...

I missed it by 1/2 second but just before this simba was giving cody a massage, dont know if he was watching me do it or what. Thats codys sore leg and the cortisone shot from monday is wearing off. Simba was full on makin biscuits with all his weight with both paws all over that back hip and leg and cody didnt mind one bit.

They settled in for that nap just after this.
