Ha, no, the wife is already allergic to the one we already have and our cat did not get along with her. Was fun having a garage cat for a while.

Thanks for the kind thought. Unfortunately one kitten passed at around 5:30 this morning and one of his brothers passed around 3:00 this afternoon. Of the two remaining kittens, one is fairly robust and vital. Her remaining brother is not doing well, we remain hopeful and will keep him comfortable. Momcat continues to nurse the one robust kitten but we have to syringe feed weakened kitten.

Ok, Super T found our copy. Free as promised to whoever want it - but there’s a catch. I don’t want you to keep it. I want you to read it, sign it and write whatever about your cats and then post it up to pass on to someone else in this thread. My hope would be that everyone would eventually get it and we’ll see where it ends up. So whoever posts up for it first, be patient and it’ll get to you. Maybe take a pic and post what you wrote so the members that had it earlier get a chance to see everyone’s story, however short or long.

That’s actually a pretty cool idea. I’ll pass (for now) as I plan to get that and the how to talk to your cats about gun safety for coffee table books. My family expects me to be the weird cat dad that says and does offense things and I don’t want to disappoint.

I’m so sorry to hear this. You’re better then me for being able or at least deciding to take those chances and care for them. Best wishes to the other too and the poor mom cat.

Sorry for your loss. We are better off with them than without them though the pain is great.

Hi Shane, I’m no better than anyone on this thread. You and all who post here are inspirational. The kindness, compassion and love you all show to your pets demonstrates what is good about our people.

Thanks all for listening, for posting your stories, and sharing your challenges and losses. My wife and I talked today about if we can continue emotionally to foster. It's early in the kitten season, emotions are a bit raw right now, but the need to support the little ones (and their Momcats) is just beginning. Shelters are also impacted by COVID-19 (we just learned today that animal care facilities are talking about curbing or stopping adoption activities-nothing confirmed, but a potential new challenge to get fosters into forever homes.

On that last subject, I think that’s where the impact will be felt the most. All those agencies we don’t think about right away. At least from me personally, I appreciate what you and your wife do. I know “my new” stress and emotion limits can’t take that kind of stuff anymore. It’s extremely heartening and does a lot to rebuilt confidence in humanity to see families like yours.

It's tough to lose a foster - my wife and I have lost a couple as well.... and with the bottle babies / real little ones it's even tougher.

You've got to remember all of successful ones that you save and give a chance of finding a forever home - makes it all worthwhile.

Does anybody's cat or cats wake them up super early, like 3:30, 4, 5 E.T.C in the morning? Whining and calling on you to get up..
Kittles gets up different wee morning hours wanting to eat and notifying of the kitty crew outside wanting breakfast too.

She's like a little cat drill instructor.

I don't know if ours do it specifically to wake us up, but as soon as there's a hint of daylight on the horizon they will begin their daily 'Kitty 500' which consists of roughly 500 sprints up and down our short hallway, through our room (we can't close our bedroom door or they freak out) all while yowling that deep, utteral cat yowl and clawing the hell out of our carpet. It's a morning routine

Yes. Otis runs across the pillows between 2-4am. Then runs out. We shut the door at that point. Most times he will scratch and whine until one of us gets up. He’s gone about an hour before giving up. On weekends, he WONT stop until one of us gets up. Not sure how he knows it’s the weekend, but he def does.

Ours cause the opposite problem. As soon as the GF's alarm goes off, they hop up for cuddles. She usually ends up snoozing her alarm like 5 times because she doesn't want to get up any more. Since I wake up without an alarm, I'm usually in the shower before they realize I'm awake, so they just sit and rattle the bathroom door until I dry off and let them in.
