Do you keep it accurate to magnetic north?

When our son was 2-3 years old our cat was eating in the window. He climbed up and reached and touched her. He looked at me and said “I touched kitty’s hole”

@ramonortiz55, thanks for the concern! Today was her every 2 month vet visit to get asthma shots. She always drools like that when we go to the vet. She used to like riding. Not sure what happened.

This is Caleb. He showed up 5 years ago as a young, feral Tomcat. We TNR’ed him and released him back on our property; he stayed around for about a month and then disappeared. Fast forward 5 years Caleb reappeared about a month ago as a skinny, bedraggled, battle scarred cat with a loud voice asking for attention. He has fattened up nicely but he loves attention more than food, loves people, hates other animals. We are amazed he disappeared for 5 years and then showed up acting like everything is normal. He is a knucklehead!

Yes, when I installed it I was torn between aligning it to be 'square' with the kitchen, or having it point to North.
The Girlfriend is a surveyor and she insisted on an accurate layout, so we actually used some of her work tools to align it to true North rather than magnetic.

Do you plan to adjust it every year to account for the magnetic drift? ;)

    F*ck no.
I glued it to the subfloor, then epoxied the seam around it with bartop 2-part to bring it flush with the rest of the floor, then put three layers of Bona Traffic down over that. It's not moving again.

True. 20 years from now when we have to rely on our kitchen floor to find magnetic North we'll be screwed.
