    Shitty day today. Learned that my oldest, Elliot, is at stage 3 (of 4) kidney/renal failure.
    He’s been my big boy since 5 weeks old. He’s over 15 now. Big boy= 15+# all his life. Had a noticeable weight loss in just a couple months. Blood draw on Friday came back today. KD script diet started ASAP today.

    Can anyone give me some advice or treatment protocols other than special diet?

    I’ll add some photos of the kid later when I can get to it...

    He’s been nothing but trouble and heaps of love since I got him.

    at a year old, he ran a metal rod into his eye socket. Amazingly no damage to his eye. A little mar to his rear duct. Nothing more.
    At about 2 he developed asthma and has been on an inhaler ever since. Yes, it’s possible to give an inhaler to cats

    He’s ridden from Birmingham to Tampa, and slept on the dash most of the way. he’s just the coolest dude.

    Sorry to hear about Elliot. This never is easy to hear bad news.

    So I have some information for you. We have a couple DVM’s on Tundras.com that offer up their time to help members with pet advice. I have used them with my animals with excellent results.

    Sorry to hear about Elliot, hopefully the new diet helps. I wish I had some advice as our Enzo is the same size and constantly having health issues but other than UTI’s he hasn’t had kidney issues. I know the Royal Canin urinary SO food he’s on now has kept those issues in check for a while

    On the subject of black cats, agreed on how chill they are. Junior has never swiped at me, nipped or nothing, neither has his little brother. They have awesome attitudes. Junior is also a skilled conversationalist.

    I had a similar issue with Ponce and it was complicated by diabetes.
    Diet and early diagnosis are key.
