The called you an asshole because people aren't used to having to listen. Who cares what they say. You were right from the start, they are just too sensitive, and too rude when ignoring you.
People don't care about the message, just how the message is delivered. Gotta be nice and supposedly repeat yourself 15 times in a soft warm tone, until they decide to listen. DON'T THINK SO!!!

Call me out for being an asshole when I have to raise my voice?? Then start listening when I'm speaking in the house I'm paying for!!!!

You were right. Not your fault your kid didn't bother to listen. I guess the yelling finally got the kid's attention. Sounds perfect to me  That's what l do.

Jack's eye was already injured badly when he showed up here. He and Marvin get along great. Our 2 uppity inside cats are starting to come around. The oldest hisses at Jack, but she's just a big asshole. :)

A lazy Monday morning, these guys are not ready for work yet. Maybe a few more snoozes.

Sometimes I wonder if they get tired of seeing the same four walls every day? Can’t tell if it’s boredom or just ready for a tactical cat nap.

25 days of the antiviral eye drops did not seem to help Gracie's running eye, and now she's sneezing, so....back to the vet. Because of our crazy work schedules we had to drop her off early yesterday morning, and I was unable to pick her up until after 5:00 pm. The girls at the vet just love her, so she got lots of attention and did well with her day out.

In addition to her eye, she apparently has chronic feline herpes rhinotracheitis - a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract. It's super hard to get rid of, and would require months of oral antivirals with no guarantee of success. Because it really just causes periodic sneezing and her eye to run a little, our vet advised against doing anything more about it for now. She may also have some scaring in her tear duct from the infection or whatever injury caused her slight squint, so the running may be just tears overflowing. She's doing well otherwise - good labs, weight, and vitals - so we need to move on to more pressing issues. Her teeth are pretty bad and need attention, so her next adventure will be a full cleaning and extraction of any that need to come out. The vet says that the poor state of her teeth may be causing pain, and/or bacteria to enter her circulation causing her little immune system to have to work too hard. She is convinced that if we can remove that problem Gracie might do a better job at suppressing the herpes on her own.

Anyway, once I got her home she had a big meal, played with her new toys, and passed out. All good signs.
