Actual story in Omaha paper made me cry; little boy same age as my son at the time, about 2-3 years old. Mom sleeping off 3 day methamphetamine high, woke to her son saying uh,oh mommy uhoh, mother woke to find her son with diaper chewed off along with all the little guys reproduction gadgets, by their puppy. That boy be 21 abouts today.
So sad. Story hurt me bad, my little one being the same age.

I traveled up to your area of Idaho for my best friends 50th b-day about 4 years ago. Beautiful country.

 

We used to live up near there

 

It was a awesome trip, got to see friends that I hadn't seen since I left Arizona in 1991.
We ate at a Brazilian Buffet that was fantastic. Some different scenic areas around a very pretty lake. Neat park, few thing that stick in my memory.

I agree, and it's hard to believe I've been here for ten years since retiring out of Alaska. Watching the boom in construction of new homes over the last several years has been incredible. The roads have not kept up with the increase in traffic, so we've seen farmland vanish, yet the quail, pheasants, deer, turkeys and more try to hang on to their old haunts, too. My kids have moved out of here, to the Tri-Cities (Columbia River) and central Oregon, which are growing, too, but I noticed that the traffic in Richland-Pasco-Kennewick moves smoothly and easily and was told by locals that they've noticed that, too.
It's feeling a lot like Christmas, as I've been noticing grace and kindness returning to the world, more neighbors talking with each other, walking their dogs, participating in their children's education.

As a fan of Kliban's cats books, I cannot forget his cartoon demonstrating the little difference between a sleeping cat and meatloaf. Don't confuse the two when it's time for dinner. Tabby coloration is camouflage.
