After being in Tennessee/NC/Kentucky for the past couple weeks, I was able to see all my boys.

Panther wanted to eat with us…doesn’t care for the hot sauce though.

Tonight around 9.30pm captain fluffy butt thwarted a thief.
He heard something strange and walked to the front door, but stopped about 3 feet from it and just sat down. Cocked his head a couple of times and then looked at me. As he looked at me, I heard our apartment building mail boxes being opened. So, I got up from the couch and walked out to the mailboxes. There was a guy in all black, face mask included opening the mailboxes with a master key, like the post office has.
I approached and scared the living shit out of him. Hoping the dick fuck comes back, because in hindsight, I should have body checked him into the boards (mailboxes and wall).... I was that close.
Never did I ever think I would have gaurd cat.

Moma ferral kitty is teaching the babies about live food. Lots of birds are meeting their demise. Babies are eating the breast out of them. Friday morning I found the hind end of a rat on the driveway, just 2 legs and a tail, most of the meat had been eaten. So far their diet has been supplemented with starlings and a rat, lol, I dont have any love for either so good job kitties!

That’s awesome, glad the douche at least took off before hopefully getting anything.

Our boy cats, Enzo & Rex will growl when they hear something strange outside. It’s a good extra sense of security lol

I’ve got double security. When someone comes to our front door Sprig the dog runs to the front door barking and his fearless best friend Copper the cat runs along side him growling.61CB99C4-1A37-478C-A9D9-33FEF8274C15.jpg

We brought Henry home yesterday after three days in the hospital. They had him on IV fluids to get his kidney numbers down, but that's a touchy thing to do when the cat also has heart failure. We now will have to balance the treatment of both disorders, and that's a significant challenge. We are realistic about his chances, and will focus on his quality of life as the primary metric for success. For now he's stable and comfortable. He's eating and drinking, and he cuddled up tight to the wife all last night - she will be staying with him upstairs until he is back to "normal" and can be permitted to roam the whole house again.

The vets think he had pyelonephritis, which can come on out of the blue...this sure did. He's on an antibiotic until Thursday, and we rejiggered his heart meds a bit. He may fully recover his kidney function, or there may have been permanent damage. It's just too early to tell. He has to go back for more lab work in 7-10 days, but we will not be readmitting him to the hospital should things go south. He's already on life #17 or #18, so if the situation takes a bad turn we will likely have to let him go. We are hoping that he gets at least a couple of months at home before we need to deal with that. For now, he's recovering from the hospital stay. My home office is on the second floor, so I can keep a close eye on him while he's quarantined up here. Love is provided on-demand.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Henry’s kidney functions return to normal so he is not battling both conditions. Give him a rub from my wife and I.
I hope he proves you guys wrong again and keeps hanging in there and enjoying the generous helping of love he’s receiving.

So far, so good after two days at home. He's perking up, and seems comfortable and aware. He's eating, drinking, and otherwise behaving normally. He seems a bit more tired than before, but we would all need some time to recover after all he's been through. The main issue now is diarrhea...likely caused by the antibiotic. It's not too bad, but I'm sure it's annoying to him.
Anyway, we are very cautiously optimistic :fingerscrossed:

He's lounging around in our guest room, and my wife is spending a ton of time there with him.
