I consider myself a bit of a deal-seeker / Craigslist aficionado. IMO, if you're buying it new, you're probably paying too much. Did you score an ARB bumper from a scrapyard for 235 bucks? Post it up! This is a thread dedicated to your proudest Craigslist, eBay, freecycle and forum scores.

*Please don’t post current listings of things you found (there are plenty of those threads in the regional forums), post only items you purchased.

Got a full set of upper and lower kitchen cabinets plus one of those stand alone pantries, that I put in my garage.

All I had to do was spend 20 minutes helping the guy take them off his wall and haul them away.

I bought a like-new Craftsman rollaround tool chest combo for $180. The guy threw in another small Crafstman box for free.

I sold the free box for $40, and I eventually sold the rollaround combo for $200 before I got my current bigger rollaround. So I used it for a few years and made $60.

Got a Dewalt 12-in. compound miter for $200, usually close to $400.

    Snap-on 150 lb torque wrench for $90.

    And I got my truck...

reminds me of a time last year when i went to buy a stereo (tuner/receiver for a home system) and cd player. guy was moving out of his house and selling most of his old electronics. i walked in there and talked to him and saw a Crate guitar amp in the corner and mentioned something about it and he said "hell, i'll probably just give that away". then i checked out the stereo and cd player, liked them, gave him the money and said "sooooo..... can i have that?". . . he got this deer in the headlights look and was like. . . "..ah, yeah sure."

i play that amp all the time!

Wasn't really sure where to put it. Probably should end up in the general thread based on the responses. Mods, feel free to change.

Got my Rav4 with 45k miles on it when I bought it off CL for $3k less than the blue book value because it was making a clunking noise under heavy braking and hard cornering that the seller couldn't figure out. Turned out to be the k-frame just needed to be torque'd to spec. 15 minutes, fixed, saved a crap ton of money!

Also bought my truck off CL this summer with just 65k miles on it. Got my wheels/tires off CL for $200. Also bought plenty of guitar and photography equipment.
