    I just got this knob, but the threads are wrong and the supplied reducer doesn't work, as you can see. Any suggestions? Not sure where to get the correct reducer, how to size it, etc. appreciate any help you can offer.

    ^^^^ Go to your local hardware store / Home Depot take the knob and rod. Reducers are quite common, they should be over in the generic hardware bins.
