yeah very aggressive bone/ligament cancer...start in his knee. He was almost 12. Long story short Dr gave him 3 months he went 6 months but was in tons of pain. So the wife made the call for me, she works with animals for a living and is better coping with it than me, I would never make the call. She came home one day and said tomorrow is the day. And I just accepted it. We made his last day awesome! Went to brunch. he had eggs and bacon (he never got people food), we went to the local park and watched the ducks and layed in the sun together, then went to the vfw, where he got to socialize (he loved the attention) we had drinks and the bartender (a vet as well) bought him a hot dog. Then we took him for his trip over the rainbow bridge. It was a great day and worst day all at the same time. I miss him every damn day.

This is a Beauceron, a Northern French Shepherd. Lineage going back to the 14th century. Today they are used in the French Military. Extremely smart, and loyal. Hard breed to train correctly and they also need lots of space to run. I have a plot of land and have taught her to just run on command. She also sleeps in our bed at night. Lol.

Your story made me tear up a little. I don't think I would be able to make the call either if I was in your shoes. But, it sounds like he lived a long, happy life thanks to you and your family :)

    Beautiful pup...

One of the things I do is zip line inspections, here is the Camp dog Parker who followed me around for two hours today, wouldn’t let me leave without one last throw...
