Let's See Your Dogs!!

I'm not trying to sell anyone on dog parks but I do really like the one we go to. And yes it is right next to open wilderness but that open wilderness doesn't have 17 other big ass dogs for my dog to run with (minus the yotes). My dog also goes on runs three days a week for 7 miles but that's on-leash time without other puppies.

 

I have a really nice dog park about a 1/4 mile from my house. It has separate areas for small and larger dogs. The large dog area has a huge open space which is awesome, but way in the back. To get to that space you have to walk through a pretty narrow patch, and most people just hang out there. It is like a gauntlet run for dogs coming in, and is far from ideal. Also, the people there care more about socializing with other people than what their dog is doing for the most part. Also seems that 8 out of 10 dogs have no business being around other animals. My dogs usually did ok in there, but they've been freaked out a time or two, so I pretty much stopped going during the day. Thankfully, that park is lit and open until 11pm, so I try to take my GSP there at night so he can run and run and not be bothered. Going that late though, you often meet some pretty "interesting" people.

 

Yeah I get that. Working an off shift helped me give pickles an opportunity to exercise while we were evacuating hurricane Michael. He gets a bad rap because he's a pit so people generally blame him for fighting. I took him to a bar-type place Sunday morning (they sell sangria and bottomless mimosas) that allows dogs. He got plenty of pets and all but one dog were very friendly and enjoyed his hyperness. Maybe it's different because they are on leashes but I agree there are more shitty dog owners than good ones at the park.

My whole life has been full of field trial Labs and one rescued corgi. And let me tell you that little corgi
was a ferocious retriever. The little dude would not stop.

Tried to take a pic of my truck and Blue photo bombed it. Still cool. Stopped at a water crossing and he and the kids decided to see if the water was cold. It was!

Don't know what these two would do without each other. They've been best buds since the day I brought Chance home. Will be two years in May.

That's these 2.. Dixie on the left my gf has had since she was a pup, she's 4 now. Sydney on the right is a rescue I've had since spring.. She's about 3

 

I adopted Jelly from our city shelter a little over five years ago. She runs the show when I'm not around. Is Dixie the boss?

It's pretty even actually. Sydney might have a slight edge surprisingly. When they wrestle Sydney's length and speed put her ahead. Dixie seems stronger yet let's Sydney pin her down haha.
