Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!

This reminds me so much of our dog. She was only returned once, but same idea. Some structure, training, and exercise then 4 yrs later I couldn't imagine life without her.

    Dog.
Astro is terrified of thunder and lightning. I am not sure what to do with him when we are out as he loses his mind and I am concerned he will run. He always comes when called, however all bets are off with thunder.
    Any ideas?
If I’m home or working at my friends house I find a secluded spot in the house and make a bed for him.

This is what makes Dogs such amazing animals. They have an innate ability to give unconditional love, empathy and comfort toward humans.
Just being near them makes me good.

They make things called thunder shirts for dogs. No experience with them, but possibly something to look into.

If the dog is still young enough, go to an outdoor gun range with him in a crate or the back of your truck from the parking lot. Give him treats as the loud noises go off in the background. Start a from a good distance, then get closer if he's comfortable. Make sure you read him the entire time, if he's not happy, move away from the noise. We did this throughout our puppy's young months. I did it mainly because we spend 4th of July at the lake and I've had dogs run off before. We don't get thunderstorms too often, however last summer we had one and my dog wasn't phased whatsoever.. Good luck.
