Ahhh man so sorry to hear about your dog.

I've been telling my wife we need to keep and eye on our new pups diet. One of our dogs was so allergic to everything we had to feed her grain free but she didn't develop issues but I know it was always a possibility.

Hard to slow down a working Lab. I know one guy who always has 3 Labs for a good reason.

The old one who is retired and laying around the house.

The middle age one who is the working dog.

And a puppy to learn from both the senior citizen and the middle age one.

It's a cycle for this hunter. He never gets the puppy until the senior Lab passes away.
This way his mourning period is short and he is always ready to have the torch passed down
between dogs. And all 3 Labs serve a purpose for him at different stages in life.

The average cost for a dog in it's lifetime is something insane like $35k. Going through the numbers I'd say mine is probably on track for this figure if we're lucky to have him as long as I hope. I think a lot of people forget to consider this when having multiple dogs. I will always have one, treat it like royalty while he's with me, but owning a herd of dogs is how so many people find themselves struggling financially.

Just consider spending $100 bucks a month on food. Lets just say 100 x 12 equals $1200 a year just in food.
Imagine if you did this for 50 years it would be $60,000 on just dog food alone. :drunk:

My two knuckleheads hoping more apples will fall off the tree. Sadly, for them, no more apples.

Avocados and apples are no bueno for dogs. At least if they are gnawing on the seeds as they contain a poison.

You’re right about avocados. When they fall it is a race between me and my dog to see who gets there first.

Sounds like you need to make more guacamole. Know what goes good with guacamole...margaritas with tequila. I can see a party happening in your backyard. :rockband:

I have the same problem. Riley usually won't do more than gnaw on it.
