My pup sliced one of his pads pretty badly on our morning run today. I tried to wrap it the best I could and then put one of my three year old's non-slip sock on it so he could get around on the hardware floors.

Any recommendations on how to deal with it besides keeping it clean?

Depends how deep it is. Riley's cut a pad before and the vet basically said "let him keep licking it" and sure enough, it healed. Wasn't too deep and he did all the work keeping it clean :D

We have used superglue on a deeper cut before. It was a two person job. You need to make sure it’s clean and then pinch it together, apply the glue, then hold it until it’s dry. I’m not a vet so I understand if you would want to check with one first...

I do that to myself so I contemplated doing it do him :)

I'll try next time I have to mess with it. It's pretty deep, like most the way through.

I went and got some coagulation powder, some more wraps, and a cone of shame. Seems to have slowed the bleeding down.

Glad to see you are taking this seriously but a vet is your best option. They are the professionals. Better to do it now than wait until Monday. JMO.

Okay, so this will sound strange but bear with me. I have been around these wounds a lot. The most recent was my own dog who lost most of his pads with an infection. There have been studies that support this....white sugar. I have used this with other animals in the past, and as you can see with the attached pics, it is magic. Pour the sugar onto the wound over night (pile it on heavy) and put a tefla bandage (Basically just a large non-stick pad)over it to keep it in place, wrap it first with some cast padding then with vet wrap. Just for over night, every night. Take the bandages off in the morning, gently clean off what remains of the sugar and soak his paw in epsom salt water for at least 5 minutes. You will start to see improvement almost immediately.

The vet said the triage was sound (warm water wash, dry, styptic powder, gauze, and then wrapped) but also suggested some 3 in one ointment. She also said to monitor it by smell the next few days to ensure it doesn't start to get infected. As of this morning the bleeding has stopped and Louie seems to be only slightly annoyed by it. Hopefully in a week or so he can be back on the trails! Thanks everyone for your input!

Mushers secret with boots/socks without traction soles. We used these with our GSD and after ten minutes she had zero problems with them.

    https://www.chewy.com/ultra-paws-du...Ml94t1NJXi-8L_-ENM1h1h11AiLpxQvBoCzf4QAvD_BwE

We tried the fancy ones with trainer soles on them like humans wear and she hated them and I think now that was because they offered no tactile feel for her.
