Eye color is a tough one. A husky could have blue eyes. Same with a bully. Labs have blue eyes (sometimes) but only while young-then they usually turn color.

 

She looks like she's got some pitbull in her

Do the test!!!! You might be surprised. I can see husky due to the eyes and pit.....

I was curious for Annie - 25% lab, 25% chow, 12.5% Australian shepard and 37.5% various hound - I knew she was part lab and every one told me she was part chow due to her tongue and I thought Australian sheep dog (due to her coat) But hound and shepard?!?!?! don't see them at at all. Still love her whatever her make up is and she must have good genes, since she'll be 15 in 2 weeks.

Do it!!!!! (even if she is part pit, no one else needs to know) I was just curious so had to do it. They also offer a test that checks for potential medical problems. I didn't do that due to her age, but if she'd been young, I might have.

 

I’m not really worried about the pit thing her papers list her as Husky/lab
Plus Denver finally voted out the ban
I think I will the curiosity is pretty intense

 

I notice alot of rescues list dogs as husky/lab mix when in reality they are pitbull mixes. Nothing wrong with pits been around them my whole life great dogs.

This is done to give the dog the best chance at adoption. I will say that I am not a pit fan-which is not to say they are not good dogs, just that their breed has certain characteristics you have to watch for and train for and picking the right one for you can be a challenge.

 

Sukis characteristics are also a bit confusing trying to figure out her mix she’s intelligent-very trainable , Confident almost too confident. High prey drive. Lover of all people. Scent oriented Very agile, but built like a tank. The embark will be interesting

 

Hope you've let her know from the git go that you are the pack leader and she's just a junior member!!! Annie was very dominant @ 3 mos old, but as soon as she got put in her place, she's been great. All it took was a raised voice and she realized she didn't rule anything. She was told last out and last in and she was good with it.

 

The prey drive is what I worry about most in almost any breed.

She came to me at almost 2yrs with a shit ton of bad behaviors. Luckily she’s completely house trained and has never chewed or destroyed anything like a couch. (My slippers on the other hand lol)
It’s been a really long road with her, including jumping my fence which cost me an arm and a leg replacing then adding coyote rollers, she is way better than when I got her, but definitely not where I would like to be at this point.
I think training bad habits out of a dog is probably more difficult than training a puppy!! I’ve had plenty of puppies/dogs in my life, and she’s been the most challenging.

 

I agree the squirrels, crows and cats are her liking.. Ive been working on look at that and leave it.
I’ll never be able to let her off leash camping
It’s crazy to watch her chase crows flying in the sky in the backyard!!

that just might be the most high energy combination of dogs you could have.
Boxer and Mal bet they keep you busy as fuck.

 

And they are both from working lines - compete / train IGP. My wife trains with the Mal, the boxer is retired and is now my pet / mountain biking companion.
