Layla, my 6 month old Boxer. Just picked her up yesterday. She is already loyal to me, learning quickly, and well behaved.

Thanks! She has already turned me into a big sucker for her. But I don't let her know that. Everyone told me that Boxers are "SO hyper" and have WAY too much energy. But I ran her for about 45 min when I got off work and walked her multiple times after that and she is just as calm as she can be. I bet if I keep her exercised and on a good diet along with the discipline that I am teaching her, she will be just fine. She is incredibly mellow indoors and can't get enough attention.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
    X2 with editing

Give her time, she will change. She will probably get more independent. At 6 months our boxer was much more complacent than he is now, BUT he is a good dog. When he gets his exercise he is a much better dog. He is still very good indoors, but when he wants to play he is crazy. I don't think he is hyper as you have heard and we were told. Stubborn at times and PLAYFUL are my best descriptions. Have fun with her, I love my little white boxer. He can turn heads. Just remember to be consistent and use positive reinforcement. Congrats!!

    quoted for truth.

We run our lab a few miles every other day and then the other days are an hour or so of running/swimming at the dog park/dog beach.

You are going to have a great time with her. My first boxer was "my " little girl and she was a hoot. When I would come in from Physical Training with the army in Germany my wife would have her in bed and tell her to lay real still so I wouldn't see her and I could walk up next to the bed and she would move a muscle until I reached down and acted like I was shocked then she got all kinds of loving...lol...They are the best. My second boxer was a rescue out of germany I picked up on my way back from Bosnia....typical german boxer with a huge head (that's what they breed for over there) and he was a blessing. I've got number three now (a rescue) and exercise (good for me too) and lots of loving and he's set to go with the other 5 rescues I have in the house. But the little female keeps coming back to my thoughts. Love her with everything you got and she'll repay you!!!:)
