That's a bulldog thing, and although this isn't an indication of hip problems, English Bulldogs are EXTREMELY prone to hip dysplasia. Growing up my dad had an affinity for English Bulldogs so we had several, with more than 1 with that condition, one of those was the offspring of a grand champion showdog. Even top pedigree of the breed have tons of issues (skin, hips, breathing, cherry eye, bowel disease, bloat, just to name a few) . They are great dogs with the biggest personality, but the other side of that coin is the extensive health issues.

There are a handful of breeds that seemingly have a handful of health related problems not the least of which is related to their schnozzles.

The Netherlands has been talking about banning breeds like these. It's difficult because some of these breeds are great dogs.

I grew up with labs- my 10 week old black lab puppy and 2 year old Aussiedoodle do the Superman often lol. They’re both hips certified, so foreign to me how it’s a trait with bulldogs and they commonly have dysplasia. I know nothing about the breed, but they are adorable, I definitely see the appeal.

They won't hip certify until they are 2 years old. But genetics are important.

Very true. My bulldog (chubby) has had multiple health issues. One being a prolapse urethra where he gets this cherry looking thing coming out of his penis. Once it starts prolapsing and bleeding its time for surgery... Again. We already took him in for 2 surgeries for this and who knows how many other times we will have to do this. Very expensive procedures. Bulldogs can get very expensive but they are great wonderful dogs. My pitbull also had he fair share of issues but nothing like Chubby

Here is my Pit Bull (Frisco). He was a very happy dog and was a great friend. Had to put him down about 5 years ago. Got very sick over night and died the next day. From what the vet told us he may had ingested some poison.

Thank you for the info, I’ll take a look at it, they do both have 26 month health guarantees. If I were going to breed the female I’d be worried about certifications, at this point I’m just planning on registering her with AKC.

She’s definitely got good genetics. Her dad is a pure badass and her mom is only 3 with no other litters before or likely after according to the guy I got her from. He trains bird dogs, he’s not really a breeder, he just wanted to pass on the genes from the female, who is his dog IMG_9570.png

I mean no offense by any of this. As i stated, ive had only English Bulldogs up until I was an adult and could choose my breed, but this breed is not intended by nature (so many breeds fall into that category. As an example the person who developed the labradoodle regrets it and feel that they are an abomination). The evidence is that an English Bulldog can't give birth to their litter naturally. They generally require c-section due to their body composition. Nature's way of saying....no more.....survival of the fittest. With that being said, my bone-head pit bull probably would not survive as one of the fittest either.20230727_135956.jpg

Now you’re baggin on doodles?!IMG_0230.jpgOur boy Artie is one of the sweetest, smartest, most emotionally sensitive and intuitive dogs I’ve seen. The asshole who hates the Labradoodle he supposedly created perhaps feels responsible for making the designer dog of its day, and perhaps the breed is high energy and highly intelligent so people can’t figure out how to train them, but every doodle I've seen, regardless of the mix, and yeah, there’s every breed crossed, has been sweet natured and perhaps a bit neurotic. Nothing you can’t say for several breeds. He makes my friends’ purebreds look like they’re mentally disabled and the other rescue mutts look like they’re socially disabled.

After growing up with labs and now onto my second I took on as an 8 week puppy, Artie was hands down the easiest dog I’ve ever had to work with from 8 weeks to 2 years.

I love me a labradoodle, and you are 100% right on the reasons he said that....mainly because he started the "designer dogs" but I also don't agree with that. They were just called mutts when I was young. No offense intended.
