The biggest concern with Doodles is the indiscriminate breeding--which is one reason there are so many different cross breeds. To be fair, it's a general problem, teacup breeds for example and even labs. There are a ton of reasons, money is one. The problem you see is the passing on of health issues, like hip and cardiac issues.

Poodles are crazy smart. Labs as well. I think the original inventor was actually on to something but popularity tends to bring people only interested in money--nothing about making the breed better. Instead, you have 67 different breeds of doodles.

The short version is no one is hating on your dog.

Anyone who would poison a dog is just a bin-person IMHO... sorry for your loss, even so long ago

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I waited 25 years for my wife to say OK on a dog. She is a cat person. (I married her anyway!) She has allergy issues and we also have cats. I did a lot of research on breeds and a doodle was the best choice for us. I scoured the rescues within a four hour drive of home, and only found one. And that agency, 3.5 hours away, wanted a home visit, a veterinarian on file, a fenced yard, and $750 adoption fee. I wound up at a good breeder on Bernadoodles as that breed seemed to check all the boxes for us. While I would have preferred a rescue (our cats have all been rescues), this was the right move for us. My wife is actually talking about a smaller dog that she can cuddle with and pick up. (Her / our cats don't do that.)

Tessa will be two in October, two days after we celebrate our 27th anniversary. And she has been everything we needed and wanted and more. Smart, playful, not aggressive, no prey drive, and would be a lap dog if she wasn't 50 lbs.

Tessa with her impersonation of "The Flying Nun."

We are planning on retiring in a couple years and will be relocating when we do. A large yard and another dog are on the wish list.

I’ve had pure bread dogs and mixed, I find them all unique with interesting and different personalities, all just as loving. The rescues I’ve had have been wonderful and I feel somehow knew what I’d given them.

The Bernadoodle was what caused me to look at the whole doodle family. The biggest claim is the hypo allergenic one. But I just cannot get over their popularity and variety.

A friend owns a couple of Bernese Mountain Digs and they’re huge. So the doodle version seems like a win on size. I love the playful nature of the BMD. Are
    The doodles like that?

From what I saw in research, yes. The bigger statement on the playfulness happened at day care. The owner asked me if Tessa took a nap when she got home. I said yes, for an hour or two and asked why. She said from the time the second doodle arrives to one doodle remains, the "doodle group" plays non stop. Tessa wants to play with all the dogs she sees in the 'hood, and most of the owners will let them play a bit if anyone's out when walks are in progress. And she's good around young kids, even though we don't have any.

Mini's are supposed to top out around 40 lbs. Tessa is 48 lbs and bigger than her largest parent.

Schnauzers are also hypoallergenic and standards get to 30lbs or so. Plus they got sweet mustaches

My cousin went through this, her last dog was a bernese and he was super sweet and playful but not overly so. Her current dog is a poodle mix (70lbs) and has all the drive of a poodle. Hyper, needs to chase things classic working dog energy because thats what a poodle is. Still a great dog but they were not ready for a working dog attitude.

My dad had schnauzers which they did well with. But I was worried about the breed (overall) with the cats. I saw a lot of mixed reports about prey drive.

We also had a schnoodle when we're kids. Really good dog of you don't mind a little sass now and then.

My GSP is a classic working dog. She wants constant activity sun up to sun down. Still only 2 so hopeful that breaks as she ages. Such a good dog overall so I can’t complain!

This photo always make me chuckle. Looks like she’s gonna take your lunch money at the playground haha.

The focus is amazing! When I drink a water or soda, I’ll sometimes toss the bottle for Kimo. He will sit and stare at you until you finish, waiting for the toss. Oh! It made the trash? Let me get that for you!

Meet the worlds sexiest deer dog. Guys and Gals these photos don't do him justice. We get compliments on every single drive through with this dog. He looks just like a deer and even runs our fence line in the back playing with the deer. The deer play with him thinking he's one of them in a weird way. The photos do not do the resemblance justice. He also does porn too! Watch out for the last photo. He even has a white butt! 92 lbs now! Rescue Dog Too! We love him!
