Later this year my wife and I are taking an island vacation, and Roy isn't invited.

We've never boarded him so we found a local couple who converted their house to a kennel free boarding facility. Tonight we're gonna check him in for the night to test it out before the long trip comes. I have the feeling we'll miss him more than he'll miss us.

 

That happened with us. Half way through I asked how she was doing and they sent me a dozen pictures of her playing and on a walk.

 

I remember the first time I left Riley at Day Care. I spent bunch of time watching their cameras. When I picked him up, he seemed pretty happy. A lot wet because "charge!" and the magic gate opens to their pool. Got him home and he dropped like a fly. Got up, ate his dinner, and slept. We did the day care thing now and then before boarding. And you're right, you will miss him more than he will miss you.

The early days

 

They sent us some pictures of him playing, then a car ride to do the daycare drop-off's (they do pick up and drop off).

 

7 year old Pit Bull at 83 pounds. His name is Bentley and we rescued him at 3 years old. My best friend for sure.

 

I went to pick Tessa up from day care and the owners wife asked if she took a nap when she got home. I said yes, an hour or two usually. She said from the time there are two "doodles" till there is one waiting for pick up, all they do is play and run. A little downtime after lunch, and right back at it. I thought it was funny that they called it the "doodle group" until I saw how many doodles and poodles were in the group.

 

I saw a video on FB of a day care group that does the pick up thing with a school bus. The dog they show is waiting as the bus pulls, owner takes the leash off, dog runs up the steps and jumps into his seat and gets belted in. Thought is was a bit different method of conveyance.

I feel like I won the lottery on 02/14. One of my friends gave me my new best friend. Bunker truly is a Velcro dog.

I was hoping NC state would have won their game tonight.

 

I saw a news report speculating on how the eclipse will affect your dogs. They are surmising that dogs who fear thunderstorms may react the same way with the eclipse. We shall see.
