I had to go pick up a lampshade on Saturday, after he woke up he started messing with his eye and scratching his ear. I think he figured out something was different or it might have been hurting a little. We only made him wear it for a couple hours while we were gone, he hasn't messed with it since. I think he figured out if he scratches he has to wear the cone and he doesn't like it at all. He now lets me put the medicine in his eye without much hassle and he is doing fine. I think I'll keep him on the Rimadyl, it's only $20 a month and the vet is right down the street, he seems to get around a little better on it.

 

When my older boston had surgery, we put the lamp shade on him... was actually pretty funny... lol

Wow! Rimadyl is sooo much less expensive near you! It was 50+ a month for Eddie! It goes by weight though, so that could be it.

 

He walked backwards when we 1st put it on, like he was trying to back out of it. He kept hitting doors and walls with it too, that made me feel bad. He wouldn't lay down and when I showed him that he could, he would look straight up and inch his feet forward till he was laying, that was funny.

He weighed in at 73lbs. He use to way 90+, but has lost weight as he got older and less active, he was very muscular when he was younger, he could pull close to 400lbs. He is very smart .

 

^^^ that is a gorgeous dog, what kind? Don't think I have seen one before around here, probably kinda hot here for him though.

 

She's a full blood Akita. About 110 lbs. Best dog I have ever had.

 

Poor baby! They do look soooo pathetic in those--and then they look at you like "what'd I do? why are you torturing me?"

Okay, so it's just less expensive by you 'cuz Eddie was on 100mg/day for a 60+ pund dog (he was big for a collie).

 

Oh..looked different than what I have seen, probably not full bloods then. Pretty though

This Vet had cheaper office visit fees than the one down the road from them, so I'm sure it varies by vet. They are very reasonable.
