Cooper being a rescue it's hard to tell how rough his past was. One thing I noticed is when he's sitting, his legs get a lil bow-legged and slightly shake. I dunno if it's a concern or not? He doesn't seem bothered by it. Might just be his long legs and he's not used to them quite yet.

Here he is waiting for a treat, nearly house broken already, sits, and learning to shake. He's also doing very well with and without his leash. Though sometimes he "herds" me where he wants to go haha

This pic you can see how he sits a little awkward

Ahhh. Kinda had a hunch from his snout and looking down at his spine- the way he's built. My wife refused to have a pit, her brother refused to let his kids come over if we got a pit and one of our friends who has never even touch a pit refused to come over if we got one.

We'll keep this between me and TW for a bit. Lol. Let them think what they want. Maybe after about 5 years I'll let them know what's been snuggling up with them all those years.

    Good looking fella!

    Thank you.

Get used to the herding. Don't be surprised if you get a nip at the heels or calves from time to time, too. Kids especially will get one from time to time. Try and train him out of it if you can with positive reinforcement. And warn everyone that if they get a nip he's just doing his job and he's not attacking.

Hi legs should straighten out. Good looking dog.

Oh I know about the nipping. I had a blue heeler/aussie mix years ago. She would nip all the time haha.

In April I leave for the Army so he'll be with my dad back home on our ranch. I'll be visiting frequently as well before hand so he gets used to it. He loves being outside

You should never let a herding dog "herd" people. That turns into a serious problem, if you even catch him watching your feet when you walk, stop it immediatly. They need to learn its never ok to herd humans. we has one but had horses so she would get her fix by running along the outside of the round pin when we were working the horses, so she never had that problem. But i knew someone else that didnt exercise their heeler enough and he was pretty nasty with nipping and herding humans.

We were never able to completely break ours of it. I don't know why either. We really tried but maybe not enough? It was real sporadic, too. Weeks, even months would go by and then somebody would get a nip. Dunno. Weird.

So sorry for your loss. You had courage to do the hard but necessary thing.
On Christmas Eve just past, I had to put down my best friend Tegan, only 4 years in our lives. It was the worst Christmas ever. So far I've pulled the plug on my father and 2 of the best dogs you could hope to meet. Fucking harder everytime.
    RIP TEGAN

Thanks. Some people have guessed st bernard-great pyrenees but not really sure. I agree he's going to be big. He's doubled in size since we've got him.
Thanks we really like the name as well. My gf thought of it and it just fit him.
