    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
It's probably been a good 5 years since owning my last dog. I've owned pitbulls all my life. Best dogs I've ever had. Well, last year I decided it was time to start looking for another pit to fill the void---I spent a good part of the year doing my research.

I ended up being referred to Elizabeth at Real Deal Chocolate Kennels in FL. (http://www.realdealchocolates.com) She breeds chocolate rednose APBT's and works with a lot of Castillo & Boogieman lines(for those of you who follow bloodlines). As with most of her yard, these dogs always seem to find their way into weight pulling competitions, agility competitions etc. Very active yard!

Made my decision around November, and placed a deposit on the 2nd pick male of the Tito(foundation male) and Gaia breeding in December 2012.

Here's the pedigree of my pup and his littermates:
    http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=440785

He was born February 3rd, 2013. 1 of only 2 males in the litter, and the biggest pup in his litter. I named him King. :)

This picture taken by the breeder a week before shipping him to me:

The night I picked him up from Delta Cargo @ San Francisco International last week on 3/29/13:

He's going through crate training, and each day getting better and better. I've gotten better at tuning out the death screams and false yelping lol but he's turning out to be a good pup. I better enjoy him while he's tiny and "portable" haha....seeing how his father and mother look as well as other males theyve produced from previous breedings, King won't be this small for long!

Good to see a HUGE dog following here in TW. :D

If you want to make the death screams easier to deal with, put the crate next to your bed when you sleep. You can drop your hand down and he will know you're right there. Gradually move the crate to where ever you want to keep it long term (Riley's is in the kitchen).

It's hard but if you can keep him in the crate letting him out for potty breaks and play time, it will go a whole bunch quicker.

King is a gorgeous looking dog-I don't know anything about APBT breeding or lines but damn, pops is big! Riley's mom and dad are both over 100# and he just busted a ton himself :D

Thanks man ;) Riley is a looker as well!!!

Oh I bought 2 crates haha...I was tired of moving the original crate from the bedroom in the mornings so I decided to buy another one and put it in the living room(upstairs). Both crates place the pup where I will always be in plain view, both also outfitted with dog beds, blankets, a toy etc to make it "his" place.

It hasn't even been a week of having him and the tough love is paying off IMMENSELY. Now during the day only small whines/yelps until I firmly say "NO" and he lays down and knocks out. I also make it a point to give him a treat every time he is being really good in his crate---this has paid off as well.

He's also picked up the command "SIT!" pretty damn quickly. I just extend my hand out, palm out towards his face and he knows to drop into sit position....and now I can make him do that without even him expecting a reward.

I've got him on a 1.5-2hr elimination schedule, and house "accidents" have been decreasing substantially. None actually in the last 2 days! He's on a 7am/6pm 2-a-day 1 cup feeding schedule right now, but will be increasing starting next week to a 7am/12pm/6pm 1.5-2 cup feeding schedule(per my vet's recommendations during King's 1st office exam).

He's the 1st dog I've actually invested pet insurance for(Pet Plan), and I'm sure that will pay off in the long run.

    Thanks!

Riley is almost 4 now. He's had maybe 2 accidents in the house. For the first few months, I kept him on the same feeding schedule and took him outside to go pee every few hours too (even through the night). He did pee in this guy's office once-but my coworkers agreed this wasn't such a bad thing  (no one liked him).

Sounds like King's gonna be a great dog! Remember, take loads of pictures. Oh, and a quick tip. Try and take a picture with the same toy once a week-it'll give you a great perspective on his growth.

I followed the "months+1 = hours alone". So 3mos is ~4hrs of time between pee breaks. I never went beyond that and it worked out great.

What I'm saying is it won't be too long before he sleeps through the night :D

He seriously fights me over getting off my side of the bed when it comes to moving over, My sleep number is set at 10 which is super super soft which kind of makes it like a little nest so he just snugs in there and gets all comfy haha! I dont know how many times he has accidentally turned on the massage setting on the remote and scared the shit out of himself! haha

Bella just passed away after 13 years. This is a great place for her to be remembered. She had a wonderful life on the beach and in the mountains, and will be missed dearly.
