He used to have excess room in this bed....................this was taken about 2 weeks ago

Taken yesterday which was within a couple days of his 4 month old mark (and about 3 months from when the first pic was taken!!!)

he is a lil over 40lbs, and hes still lean.

I got him when he was 7.5 weeks old, and was told after I got him home that he was too young and I shouldnt have gotten him that soon. Im no dog expert and I trusted the breeder (I guess bad move?). I was told he would possibly have health issues.

I ACTUALLY LOST A FRIEND BECAUSE HE THOUGHT WHAT I DID WAS SOOOOO TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, so far this puppy (Bentley) has been a healthy SMART booger.....he walks like a big dog already, kinda lumbers around cuz his legs are so damn long and his paws are so big.

Guess I got lucky as far as the dog being healthy SO FAR.................Still bummed I lost a friend over this shit tho. I drove 200 miles to pick the puppy up, and found out after I got home that the pup was too young. Kinda in a shitty position if u ask me.
Funny enough, all the yellow and chocolate siblings were gone already.... Is the breeder really that screwed up of a person? Im rlly no dog expert.

That wasn't a true friend if you can lose them over that. While it was probably too early, (11-12 weeks is better) The dog will survive just fine. Kinda stupid thing for that "friend" to get that pissed off about.

Yeah, I agree with krap22, (I'm not a dog expert either) but as long as you fed him right and such (which it looks like you did) he will be just fine. My wife's parents gave away a batch of puppies when they were only 3 weeks old and most of them are just fine (the mom wouldn't take care of them, so they were feeding them milk and such from a saucer).

Beautiful pup! You're friend is probably flipping out because you didn't rescue or adopt...to each their own, but to ruin a friendship over that is idiotic. You're better off.

FWIW, I've always been told that 8 weeks is the generally accepted adoption age from a litter so 7.5 weeks is only 3-4 days "early" and shouldn't have any noticeable ill affects on him. I later found out that before we got together, my fiancee got our Olde English at 5-1/2 weeks and she's been perfectly fine.

I feel much better.........Ive been kinda mad at myself over it a little... But it looks like I should lighten up.
And yes, hes 1 of the shelter guys (my former friend).... I love rescues and love muts, Ive had em before, but never as a puppy. This time I knew I wanted a big dog and wanted to see the parents... So the right dog happend to be an AKC, ya, shame on me  the lil guy is happy go lucky. Thank u all

As long as he came from parents in a proper home and not a mill, there's nothing wrong in my eyes with getting a puppy.

Health wise, I'm not sure a week makes that much difference. However, the bigger thing is the social skills dogs develop when they're with their siblings.

I think dogs really do need to be with their 'people' to develop these social skills. So as long as your pup is able to hang with other dogs, he will learn good dog behavior.

I love that picture by the way. I have a similar one that always makes me smile:

^ this. Most reputable breeders won't send pups to their new home until 8 weeks. Mainly because of the things they learn from their litter mates.

    Lighten up.
