That's how it normally works lol. I wasn't even at the shelter to look at dogs, it was a volunteer event for work and I came home with a puppy lol.

    Same here.

GF says she wants to go "play" with the dogs at the shelter.

20 min later I'm filling out paperwork for an adoption.

I cant even fit Haus in the cab :( at 120lbs and still growing he barely fits on the seat, so in the bed he goes. my hound mix though is 60lbs and fits in the back seat just fine with room for another..

They would both ride in the bed but with Makita being part coonhound her hunt drive is far too big and she would bail at the site of any creature on the side of the road. Haus just likes to enjoy the breeze, he loves the bed.

us girls are good at that lol the best part is, is its usually the guy who cant say no but doesn't wanna admit it :D

 that's kinda why I didn't get a rotte, when I got Zoie. Both dogs have to fit in the back seat. @ 60 - 70 lbs each, they both fit just fine.

Better for her to ride inside. Don't wanna have her jump out.

I was always scared for him to ride in the back, I started him in the canopy when he was young and he got used to the concept, and it was great and really convenient since he goes everywhere with me. Then one day he thought it would be really fun to shred the carpet on the inside of the canopy :( so I took it off and have yet to get it fixed. So I started off tying him in the back with a harness and now he rides freely most the time. Since I feel its safer if we got in an accident for him to be able to escape rather then get crushed.. even though either way isn't as safe as the cab.

I'd be afraid to leave him unsecured in the bed. A small bump/crash would send him flying. I think he'd be safer with a harness and secured, than loose. You are right, a bad crash could be deadly, either way, but I'd still tie him in.

Very true, I've also been looking into just getting a dog crate for the back too. just hate loosing the bed space but would be worth it!

If you get a wire one it can fold up whenever he isn't in it.

I had to get another one for Dex (outgrew my brothers old crate) and went with this kind. According to the website they make the crates for a lot of different companies who then just put their name on the thing.

Haha yes ^^ I like the idea of buying the do birthday stuff. Although they don't understand, it's a great tradition.
