    Obviously taken last month...

The topic was pages ago, but FWIW, he was brought home at about 5 weeks. IMO, way too early, but we couldn't leave him where he was covered in fleas and feces. The breeders sucked and I should have just walked, but held the little butt head. I don't see anything different in his behavior than any other lab I've owned over the years. Follows me everywhere, loves people, especially kids and loves tennis balls. He gets along with the cat too.

I opened this thread about 4 hours ago, to ask for prayers for my Hank. Over the last few days he had stopped eating and was drinking very little. He was also extremely lethargic, and was throwing up bile. This morning we took him to the vet to see what was going on. Their xrays showed he had a blockage in his small intestine. I gave the go ahead for surgery with us and the vet thinking he had chewed up a toy and it got stuck. The vet said it could be a tumor, but given he's always been healthy and is only 4.5 years old, that was unlikely. About an hour later I got a call that the blockage was a softball sized tumor that had wrapped itself around his small intestine, and had finally become large enough to completely block his digestive track. They said there was nothing that could be done and we had to have him put to sleep. After a mad dash to the vet's office to say goodbye, he's gone. Goodbye Hank, you'll be missed and never forgotten. RIP buddy.

That's heartbreaking, man. Sorry to hear it. We know that even the healthiest pups aren't long for this world but it's never easy to let them go.

Thank you. I tried to play with the other dog Cole like we do every night. I couldn't do it, its just too much. They are usually chasing each other around like a couple of crazies. It doesn't help for Cole to be running around the property looking for him either. I miss my buddy.

    [IMG] Rainbow Bridge [IMG]

[SIZE=+1]Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So sorry for you loss, I just went through almost the same thing.

Took out my 7 year old German Sheppard on his favorite river trail on a sunday afternoon, that night no more than 8 hours later he pissed in the house twice. Monday he wouldn't eat or drink, ran all kinds of tests and the vets found nothing.....long story short we narrowed it down to brain cancer/tumor. He went from a healthy pup to gone in a matter of 11 days. We have 6 dogs in my family and he was the leader.
