That's not from today. That was from a while back. She's still gone.

I could count on one hand how many times she's not been home by dark in the 11 years we've had her. So of course, I'm thinking the worst...

My girl just got home! I have no idea where she was, but it's extremely unlike her to do somethin like this. But...she's home, and that's all that matters.

Decided to run out to Tie Hack for an hour or so and see how the fishing was.

A veterinarian came to talk to me about the pup. He mentioned that he shouldn't leave the house this early due to parvo. I have always took the dogs out as soon as they could keep up :notsure: He has had 2 of the 3 recommended vaccines and I will be giving him his 3rd tomorrow after picking it up at Big R. I think I will still be taking him out. He really needs the socialization and most places online say that after 2 shots it is unlikely pups will get parvo. The 3rd is just the "just incase" shot.

I haven't took him to the dog park though. I know to avoid those like the plague for a bit :p. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone, here's a pic of my Rhodesian Ridgeback. He's just slightly over 5 months old. Great dog.

My Toller (NSDTR) is 11 and reaching End of Life which is hard for me to accept. Been around the breed for more than 25 years, they are sensitive to many vaccines which can actual kill them due to sensitivity and biological nuances of the breeding. We hunt with many other dogs each fall in SD, Mn. and Wi. but are careful of with whom. Socialization is critical and you can't really start too young IME, but hopefully with others of the same age and size in the early stages. I totally agree that dog parks are nothing BUT a plague which will certainly set off a shit storm with some, but I will not go near them.

Took me a long time to find a decent vet here that had any experience about hunting dogs let alone rare breeds. Most of the vets that I took him to when I first moved here were totally clueless city trained vets. I'll take a vet that was a large animal farm vet for several years then went to small animals in a heart beat. Just because they are a vet don't assume they know everything. Just saying....

    Beautiful pup.
