Sure - here's a pic from a couple of weeks ago:

    Indy May 14.jpg

He just finished his spring/summer blowout - most of the hair on his ridge went away for a while. It's now coming back in full.

Dude I read and heard all that same shit... Now my dog has some pretty bad socialization issues. The few weeks she was isolated turned out to be a very important window for her. We're now having to resocialize her which is a total pain! But it is working :)

Our new trainer, who really 'gets' dogs, made a good point about the parvo stuff. Yes it's real, yes your pup can get it and die, etc. but in the end, it's probably more likely a dog will be put to sleep or live an unfulfilled life due to poor socialization in the name of preventing parvo, than if they had taken a risk in letting the pup out earlier. I'm not saying just take your dog to a dog park and throw caution to the wind - you def want to take precautions and understand how parvo is contracted to minimize risk.

Wife took the Lab for a hike yesterday and she was swimming in a pond and came out limping, let her rest the day and night and today she's still nursing it a bit. I cant see anything cut or bruised but touching one of her toes is def bothering her a lot. I cant see the vet till Monday and she doesn't seem to be in a ton of pain so I think the emergency vet isn't necessary. And shes a lab so she still wants to retrieve her toys on 3 legs. Any suggestions?

Mine does this on occasion. Gets a little better each day. Never had a real issue.

^ I hope it its just a sprain of some sort. Labs have a pretty high pain tolerance.

I took Ash out camping this weekend with the guys.

Glad you got it taken care of. Poor pup. My old lab Missy would want to run and fetch no matter what. Torn paws? Fuck that, lets run 10 miles. I hope her recovery is fast :).

Do any of yall have large dogs that need a ramp or stairs to get in or out of the truck? I have a 13 week old Saint Bernard, and he is growing at about 5 lbs per week. He is not supposed to jump out of the truck because it is too high for him and they are susceptible to joint issues. I can pick him up now, but in a few months he will weigh over 100 lbs. I was thinking about building a ramp that I can fold up, and was wondering if anyone had done something similar?

First Eric - Pics or you don't really own a dog. :D

Second - Do you even lift bro? :D

And in all seriousness I know you got some mad wood skillz so building a ramp should be no problem. The design trick would to make something that can be folded up quickly and have some strength to handle a dog that will eventually out weigh you. ;)

I did a real simple one - an 18" x 4' long sheet of 5/8" plywood backed up by a couple of 1x1 oak strips. Scrap carpet on top, casters on one end, rubber door stops on the other to keep it in place when climbing. Roll it out of the bed with the wheels on the tailgate.

The biggest thing for me is he is going to weigh over 200 lbs. Im thinking 3/4 plywood with oak backing for support. I like the door stop idea, never would have thought about that.

Here he is at 11 or 12 weeks and about 30 lbs.

He's now 13 weeks and about 35 lbs.

Edit: Its been so long since I've been active on this site that I forgot how to post pictures in the thread...... or rotate them
