Great looking dog! My wife and I were talking about a second dog and pugs were on the list! Any words of caution or advice?

Caution or advise with Pugs,,,,,,,, just a little.

Only get a Pug from an established breeder with records of your pups family history at least 3 generations back. They are known to have health issues such as hyper mobile patellas, elongated or soft palets(sp?) , and a few other things.

You must limit their exposure to warm or very colt temps. Over 80F you need to be cautious. They don't need a great deal of exercise and all pugs are foodies. They have great begging skills too.
They snore and shed a lot!

So many more things about pugs I can tell you about,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks man, that's a pretty thorough heads up! I think you forgot to mention their love of little costumes as depicted in your signature pic! Thanks!

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
They can have hip problems that requires surgery and even that may not last for ever. they can loos control of bladder and stuff because of it.

They can also have breathing problems and MAY need surgery.

as someone els said the shed bad, snore like crazy. have kinda funny barks i think. The are GREAT at begging for anything. food, attention. They love to lay next to you and if you move over 1” they will try and move over 3"

just picked up this german shepherd/catahoula. both parents are pure breeds. the dad is a $10k gs thats a retired(lol yeah right) search and rescue k9, but his offsprings have been trained in search n rescue, narcotics search dogs and for police service dogs. The person I got her from trains dogs in search and rescue and only keeps 1 or 2 from each litter to train. ill be training her to search for pigs. ;)

Tennis racket and balls!! :D Worked for Ollie for all of her almost 11 years. She loved to play until the week before I had to put her down. Granted her last few years, she was content with just a few chases, but she still wanted to play.

    Cute pup!!!
