Well, he only has one eye...the right eye is an intraocular prosthesis. While he was at doggy daycare he was attacked by another dog.

When I say attacked, I mean he was seriously attacked and was not expected to survive. He had a total of five surgeries at the McGill University vet center to patch stuff up. Luckily the only permanent damage was the loss of an eye. Well, that and a debilitating fear of other dogs.

LOL no. Funniest thing is that it was my birthday (day after actually) and I bought the truck on my way to the breeder to get the dog (b-day present from the wife). Bet day ever... after the wedding day of course (a woman how loves me and my truck, can't be beat).

I haven't noticed anything with him hanging closer to us, just that he absolutely goes manic when in the presence of other dogs. This may sound bad, but his vision isn't normal so we do use that to our advantage when walking him around the neighborhood. It isn't that difficult to keep him from seeing a dog on the other side of the street.

The bills were surprisingly cheap being that everything was done in Canada (we were living in Vermont at the time). We would have hapily paid any amount of money for the care he received, however a few weeks in the hospital was around $1500...and I think all of the weekly follow-ups were no charge. It was a few years ago so that figure may be off slightly. I kept all the records (and took pictures daily) but I really can't bring myself to go back through those.

The doggy daycare people took no responsibility and did not cough up a dime. They would not even refund the rest of the month that we pre-paid. They claimed nobody saw what dog actually did it...they just found him lying there. We took legal action against them but it didn't get very far due to the papers we signed on the first day we dropped him off. We have a case against the owner of the attacking dog but we have no way of proving what dog actually attacked him. (We have a theory...but I have no way of proving it.)

Regardless, he has a good life. :)

That's so wrong... there should have been someone out there watching the dogs as well as keep the tiny ones away from the big dogs.

But, glad he's doing fine now.
