I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that does this on their dogs bday! They also get a meat cake and a bath.

It only took 10 minutes to get him to sit still with that wizard hat on haha. He got an XL elk antler and another toy that he destroyed in 3 minutes.

One of my dogs 1 year since someone left her on my doorstep half dead. We threw her a party as well.

And no we didn't let her eat that entire burger.

He's a shelter dog so not really sure what all is in there. The guy that dropped him and his brother&sister said they were shepherd/hound/boxer mix.

We took my pup to the beach on her 1st birthday.

    That was in February.
She'll spend her 2nd birthday at the kennels during a 3 month retriever trsining.

He's a good looking cute dog. That's awesome you rescued him!!! I've rescued all my labs. The one I have is a lab beagle mix....I got him the day before they were gonna put him down. I got my purebred from a lab specific rescue.

My pup turns 1 on the 12th of next month. No hat or party we will be in SD hunting ducks in the morning and pheasants in the afternoon. He should be happy with that :) Leave Saturday for another trip up to the North Shore grouse hunting. Have been adding 100 grams (half cup) of 80\20 raw hamburger to his kibble to try and put some weight on him and keep it on him with all the work he is doing.

I already have my next dog picked out and will be looking at a breed specific rescue when it's time. They're just pets for me so I don't need to know their blood line. If they were a working dog like some of the guys on here have, yea I'd want to make sure the pup came from a good line. But for just chasing leaves and cats around I think every dog can do that haha.

She will get around just fine. I had a Min Pin (the ex wife's) that lost it's eyesight (diabetes). I was amazed at how quickly she adapted. She bumped into things for a bit at first and adopted a strange method of walking, extending the paws way out with each step like using a cane. She lived a normal life aside from that. Always found the sun beams to lay down and nap.
