Awwww! She's beautiful! I had a sheltie before my second collie--Mikey was 15 when he died. He was my first dog. He had much the same coloring as yours, but he was pretty big for a sheltie, and fat too! He's the original Fat Dog from my personalized plates. He had moments when he hit 38 pounds, but he was also 21 inches at the shoulder rather than the standard of 16. LOL! He was on special food, didn't eat that much, thyroid pills, so we used to joke that he gained weight just breathing!

i have had collies all my life this is my first sheltie. she is great pretty much same personality as the collie i think just a little extra excitement, lol.

she is a little big to around 18" at shoulder blades. she weighs 35lbs around. but she is in excellent shape and very slender... maybe your dog weighed more then u thought lol they are great dogs i love her. smarter then some humans i think, lol..

It's entirely possible that he weighed more that I thought most of the time--I always hated to take him to the vet for his shots--I'd get the fat pet lecture....lol! And that was after doubling up on walks to try to get him to lose a pound or two. He looked like a big fluffy sausage on four sucker sticks alot of the time.....not at all like your svelte beauty! LOL!

My collies are a bit different than Mikey--friendlier and less barky. But Mikey wasn't typical in the personality department-- the sheltie exitable quality was lacking in him as well. He was very standoffish with everyone but my husband and I, but not shy, grumpy! Ed and Connar are regular goofy, lovable collies. I used to say that Mikey was brandy and cigars, and Ed (my older collie--13 now) was beer and peanuts. Connar came after. Mikey was definately different!
