Yeah, exactly. They can make the jump, but I know labs can develop hip problems over time, so I'd rather just get a ramp of some sort.

I know you asked for personal experience, but I have none (sorry). This one looks nice though!

Or if you're handy with wood, you could build one that's 8' long but folds in half in the middle. Probably be a lot cheaper.

Thanks, I was looking at this one. I'll probably end up getting this, I was just curious if anyone knew of any cheaper or better options. Thanks for the input!

Hopefully someone else chimes in and can help! The tricky thing is that the tailgate is relatively high, so a longer ramp is needed. It's not quite as low as an SUV. Good luck!

Soooo this happened on Monday.

He's a 9 week schnauzer/poodle mix. Should be 20-30 pounds when full grown, but currently he's 5.6# as of his vet visit on Thursday. He's pottying outside and sleeping through the night like a champ. We had two bad nights and then he settled down nicely. He holds it when I'm at work and waits for me to come home to go potty outside... he's very good. Learning how to sit and come. Definitely knows his name and "No!" Haha Cuddling is his most favorite thing. The only time he causes a rukkus is when he's in his crate and I have to go to work or if he can't see me, but he settles down in time and is getting better with that, too. SUPER SMART! Learned how to escape his play pen after 2 days... had to go but him a large enclosed crate for daytime while I'm working. He rides in the truck great! Just sleeps the whole time. He's just the best little guy ever.

Figured she was a mix. Never seen a GSD marked like that. Good looking dog though! Looks like she probably has good hips.

Yeah most people haven't seen that color. Yeah she had a pretty straight back. Working lines tend to have straighter backs. Her father was 100% black except tan paws.

Washed and waxed both of the vehicles yesterday. My dog hung out in the back of my truck for hours. I use the bed of my truck like a puppy playpen, lol.

I picked up one of those used (craigslist) as my 11 yr old lab has a bad hock and can't jump anymore. no problem getting up and down from the tailgate of my stock TRD Offroad 4x4. the 'sandpaper' like top finish gets all ugly with nail marks, but as long as she gets a bit of a running start, she gets up it just fine. took the stupid girl about 20 tries to figure out to go UP the ramp, she kept jumping across it.

    Some really cool shit
I have that exact ramp. Worked ok on my stock 94 4Runer, but for my lifted Taco, it's too steep.
