What to they call it "Getting him 'fixed'?" He's really broken, if you think about it.

So my pup seems to be getting better after her kennel stay last weekend. Stools still soft but her energy and desire for food are back.

However, my cat is now vomiting, lethargic, and has the squirts.

So whatever illness my dog picked up also effects cats!

    Here's my two knuckleheads

Charlie we adopted December 2015 and he was about 8 months old.

The other one is Cooper who we adopted February 2011 when he was around 3 yrs old. I have never met a dog that likes wearing coats as much as him

We use the kennel for the first year with our dogs, religiously. For the second year, it's there, but just left open. After that it goes away.

Aussies can be destructive as hell until after year two.

My pup knows that when the house is empty of humans it's time for his crate. If I'm the last one out and he sees me putting shoes on without his leash in my hands he'll go in his crate.

Best thing for a dog's upset stomach is some white jasmine rice. Easy to grab from your local
Asian hole in the wall for a couple of bucks. Really helps settle their stomach and gets their stool
back to normal. I will feed my Lab's rice for 3 to 4 days and it helps big time. Plus dog's love rice.
Have no idea if cats eat rice. :notsure:

And boiled chicken. 70% plain white rice and 30% boiled chicken breasts (no seasoning). The rule of thumb we were told was 1-1.5 cups per 10lbs of dog. We were giving our dog 7 cups of rice and 3 cups chicken a day for a month :bananadead: He's finally back to his dry food though.

Whenever we cook dinner with rice I make extra for my pup, upset stomach or no. I feel that dog food is super rich and that he could use a break anyway. So he gets a rice day every week or two.

Good to see this. I always make a point with my new pups to acclimate them to being interrupted, pet, poked, etc while eating. Too many times I've had friends that can't even look at their dogs eating without getting growled at.

Yeah, almost too much info available. But, on Boxers anyway, there is certainly enough con as there is pro on neutering "if there are no behavioral problems" which so far we don't have. Just so glad I didn't do it at 6 or 8 months just out of habit like most do. And I realize this is completely NOT scientific but I've had 2 males previously [different breeds] and got one fixed at 8 months and left the other intact. My intact dog lived to be 17. My neutered dog was full of cancer at 7 and had to put him down.

So, it is hard to know what to do? I think I will just play it by ear, watch the behavior, and monitor the pro health risks closely.

When my dog was getting neutered, I joked with my vet that my dog will look funny with a empty nutsack.

Vet told me that we can put in fake balls for visual appearance and I asked him let's put in the biggest balls.

Of course I'm joking but I thought that was funny as hell.

I was talking to my vet the other day with my puppy's visit and she was recommending skeletal maturity before neutering...unless we have aggression problems. So, it was closer to a year for that.

Riley was neutered early and over the years, I've come to realize that may not have been a good idea. Vet said it wouldn't be a big deal but vets have been swinging toward the "leave them". direction lately.

If I had it to do over, idk. Riley seems ok and is definitely healthy.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Had to fix King as soon as possible, couldn't handle him trying to hump the kids. That was around 5 months old. He hasn't humped anything even one time since being fixed. For that I am grateful!
