Get yourself an oscilliscope and measure the SPD waveform into the ECM. Same can be had for the gauge cluster.

I wouldn't see any issues, just don't engage it at any high speed.

Mines engaged 99% of the time so all i have to do is engage the transfer case.

It’s been this way for the past 5 years and I’ve had no issues

Wedge a combi wrench against something on the back side. Have truck in gear for rear shaft until you want to rotate it to get at the hard to reach nuts. Use extensions.

I use one of these on an impact and it makes quick work of it. Harbor freight sells some.

On the output shaft nuts? To split it? The damn things look like they’re keyed.

Oh I thought you meant driveshaft. I used a pointy chisel to hit out the detent on the nut and used a very powerful impact to undo it.

Yeah the breaker bar just isn’t cutting it. How did you keep it from spinning. Just wedge something in there. It just sitting on my bench

The impact was powerful enough to just remove it. Torquing it down was a different story though. I had to use a wrench jammed against the stud to keep it from spinning and ratchet strap the case to the bench to keep it from picking up. Only because I was using a torque wrench and wanted it properly torqued vs just ugga dugga

Also just to make sure, you only need to remove the front driveshaft nut to open the case, not both. Just wanted to make sure you’re not accidentally doing extra work.

30mm socket with 1/2 impact. Make sure you undo the stake from the nut.

Also to put it back on, I just used the impact to align the stake back up and re-stake. I have had no issues.

I did extra work haha. Impact was definitely the way to go. I just zipped it back on real quick to get it together. I’ll torque back up when I find the numbers. Thanks man.
Also. Either this tooth has been broken (I couldn’t find it inside) or someone has messed with this case already.

can the Front Range twin sticks be applied to the auto FJ case? does the case need to be opened? @6 gearT444E I found an auto tcase with shifter for pretty cheap, and Im thinking about buying soon (for a 2022 install by you :help:) Wondering if the twin sticks could be installed at the same time?

Yes for both. If u want to have twin sticks, u need to open it up and grind the shift rail and remove the pill connecting the two
