Question for the folks that twin sticked their fj case. Does this spring and ball go back under the plug after removing the "pill"

How do you like that shifter? I ordered the same one, just waiting for it to arrive.

on my Lo-n-Hi shifter, i had to get marlins spring to keep it in gear. otherwise it was popping into neutral. the sprring just goes inside the stock spring.

i didnt figure this out until i went wheeling and it popped out of gear going down hill :eek:o_O

Still trying to carve out time to finish my tranny swap, so definitely the wrong guy to ask. Mounted on the case with it all on my bench, it seems nice enough although I have plans for the plain-jane knobs.

Just had the Marlin springs show up. So you're saying you add the OEM spring and the Marlin spring together or add the Marlin behind the stocker? I think I got you but want to make double sure as it's the first time I've heard of this. Thanks!

So I got my case mated to my trans this morning. Figured I'd go ahead and do the wiring while I wait for my sticks to show up. I proceed to try to plug the the original wires into the case when I realize I didn't even swap the sensors from my stock case :facepalm:Hoping I can swap em in when I cut a hole in the cab. If not she's coming back down.

they’re not bad to do on the truck. Just make sure you have the connectors noted they are not the same even though they look very similar for the low range and 4wd

Ended up getting them swapped. Everything's wired up. 4wd sensor passenger side / Lo sensor on the driver side. Cut up my hands a bit from working through my hack job of a hole I cut. Just waiting on my sticks now. Gonna get the ADD deleted this weekend if I have time.

My fj case didnt come with sensors. Is it a direct swap over from my stock case?

4wd sensor (accepts plug w/ red w/ blue stripe and white w/ black stripe) goes passenger side of case. Lo‐n-hi sensor (accepts plug w/ yellow w/ black stripe and white w/ black stripe) goes driver side in the foward most opening.

Pretty much seeing only one twin stick on the market. Front range off road.

    Is that the best one?
Do they work with 6-speed manual stock shifter?
I imagine the way to install is mount the tcase, put a coffee cup “spacer” between the top shift access port of the tcase
To line up on the body
    Trace, cut
Figure out a grommet, boot, insulation

that assumes no cutting and welding of the twin stick
No idea where it tends to “pop out of”
    (Cupholder hole maybe?)

long story short am hoping it won’t turn into 3 shifters too close together smacking into each other, unable to shift gears in the manual transIMG_6095.jpg

Those are the sticks I ordered. From what I've gathered it's not a 1 stick fits all aplication and you'll need to cut, bend, weld, etc... the sticks to your liking and fitment. As for the hole....I just took rough measurements back from my trans shifter and just cut a hole where I thought the center of the tcase shifter would be. I ordered a custom 3d printed center console area (cup holder area) from a company that was mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread. I didn't want to have 3 sticks bundled up in the stock trans shifter location. I ordered this with a few changes thanks to @wrmathis
    Screenshot_20230806_211902_Chrome.jpg
I'm basically having mine made without the switch cut outs and a slightly larger shifter opening since I'm having both sticks in that location.

Cool thanks for the info guys because I did notice on the fj case there was three sensor ports.

made a little progress with the add delete. Now I need to make a block off plate. The retaining ring here needed a special tool since none of my 10 snap ring pliers worked. A smaller one pictures would be ideal for this job. It removed it fine but with the sleeve welded to the hub, the reassembly got tight with these. Yeah I was just tagging you for introducing that website where you got your 3d printed piece made as I'm going the same route with some minor changes to your design.
