    Nice

it’s so much easier to deal with than trying to hack up the stock one.
How much did you pay for yours?

Waiting on my advance adapter knobs and some parts to seal the floor, but she's pretty much wrapped up

That’s how much I paid. Although I spent a decent amount in gas driving back and forth to meet up with him to get it squared away.

Those sit on the inside of the Planetary assembly. See from my thread where I pulled them with the magnet. Easiest way to get them in is slap some grease on them and drop them in before you slide the two halves of the case together. Grease should hold them in place. Hope that makes sense?

Seems to make sense. I think I can get em in there, I was just baffled where it even came from. I was more worried about those little keys everyone talks about.

Mine fell out and that shit had me so heated. I fought them for 20 minutes and had to walk away to cool down. Came back and they fell right into place.

On paper it seems worth the swap and a few trusted souls say its worth it but I'll get some miles and update. For now, I'm just stoked to get rid of my auto tranny.

    Thanks!

As for the handbrake, I don't mind the old Toyota hand brake location (kinda nostalgic for me, actually) but the auto trans cabs don't have the studs for the OEM 2nd gen handbrake assembly and because of that, crawling under the dash to locate, fabb and install a homemade bracket sounded like a big pain (some claiming it was the absolute worst part of their swap). After pulling the center console top bezel and seeing the brake cables right there, it made sense to me to figure out a handbrake option at the center console like the 3rd gens have. I'd still be fabbing brackets but at least I wouldn't be crawling under the dash again to do it.

Just bumping this thread looking for leather-style twin stick shifter boots to trim out my Front Range Twin sticks.

I know Redline will make custom boots and I found these guys who make twin stick boots for NP205 twin stick cases but really nothing else:

    81-93 Dodge Transfer-Case Boot Twin-Stick | strongholdshiftboots

Can you guys recommend anything else?

I’ve gotten hammered and sewn two crown royal black boots up there for cheap.

Hey all. I did the T case swap a couple years ago into my 2012 4.0 auto TRD Tacoma with a 2018 4runner T case. I used a 12 State switch for the ADD and wired it so I had functional 4wd and 4wd low range indicators. I always had a few issues however.
    1. When I pulled the lever into 4wd Hi both the TRAC OFF and traction control lights would come on on the dash. I didn't remember that being the case with the dash knob.
    2. The truck would not shift into overdrive in 4wd. I live in Montana and use 4wd at highway speeds a bit in the winter.
Today I was getting ready to drive to hunting camp about 350 miles away this weekend and decided to double check my wiring. Turns out I had a few things wrong.
I double checked the wires and I had the gray with black stripe and brown with white stripe soldered backwards. The reason my 4wd and 4wd LO lights worked however was because I had the sensors in the Tcase backwards.
When I swapped the sensors in the Tcase from 4runner to my Tacoma ones I got them wrong. So I swapped sensors, re-soldered the wires correct and I have functional 4wd HI, 4wd LO lights on dash and The truck will shift into overdrive in 4wd HI finally!
Hope this might help someone else out and thanks to all for sharing their knowledge to make this swap possible
    Jake
