I'm no electrical guru but if you have the skills for the mechanical portion of this (and it sounds like you do), the wiring is easy.

Here's what I used from the two connectors on the 4x4 ECU:

And here's the pin out (if that helps, but I found it just easier to use the above description).

Mine ended up looking like this before I taped everything up and secured it out of the way. You can still make out the wiring colors using the description above for reference.

Thank you. The mechanical/welding part Im not worried about.

Seems like a couple less wires than the locker anytime mod, which I am grateful for. Looking forward to getting 4lo back. Then last step for me will be to swap in the ADD tube

You might want to go ahead and extend those wires since the case isn't installed yet. It will really help when the time comes to wire them. Good thing you're not doing twin stick. Just slap it in bro. Lol!!

    Will do!

Im actually not seeing any different color wires on these sensors. Does that matter?

Going to degrease this case after work today. Maybe even cut the shifter

Cut and extend. the colors will matter when you get to the wires from the plug. that being said, it doesn't matter which colored wire goes to whatever black wire, as long as it's the right plug.

If I recall, the FJ case connectors did not match up to the tacoma connectors for my sensors. You can either swap sensors or cut the harnesses off the taco case when you extend. I found it easier just to swap sensors from taco to FJ. You will have one sensor for the hi/lo rail when in the neutral position that there's nothing to connect to on the taco. Just leave the sensor in the FJ case and let the plug hang and dangle.

Edit: also, once you jump the ecu, your dash lights will read 4lo when in the neutral or 4lo position since it's not reading the neutral sensor. No big deal, just make sure the stick is fully engaged going to low.

Correct me if Im wrong, but this is what I am getting:
The sensor wire colors dont matter, but connecting to the loom that is in my truck does.

    From this video:
    https://youtu.be/29c5XJjycFo?t=967

-I will be capping the green sleeved wires - not used
-red/blue and white/black (from Tacoma harness) goes to passenger sensor
-yellow/black and white/black goes to driver side sensor

    Is this correct?

    Correct.

The sensor is basically a light switch. It's open or closed based on shifter position and if the ball is pushed in or not based on the groove in the rail.

The sensor he has spade connectors on coming off the tcase that is connected to nothing is the neutral sensor I was referring to. Cap em, tie em up...whatever. the one he was troubleshooting.

When jumping across the ecu, colors/pinouts matter. I would trust but verify whatever colors he refers to based on the pinout diagrams in previous posts. Every truck is different. I didn't formally "cap" the wires I cut coming out of the harnesses, because i dont see a risk there, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

What I did, was pull my taco case, extend the wires and install the taco sensors into the FJ case. I then jumped the 4wd ecu per pinout diagrams and posts i found here. I set the FJ case on the floor, under the truck with everything plugged in and went through shift sequences. I turned the input shaft on the tcase and verified my dash was reading correctly in each position.

That's my suggestion, procedural wise to verify you've got everything wired correctly.

Second thought on my post above regarding dash lights, I may be incorrect about how your dash lights read in the neutral position on an auto. Mine is a manual, and it reads 4lo when the fj case is in neutral. Yours may not. Sorry if I put out incorrect info. Someone who has done this in an auto can maybe verify.

Thank you for your explanation. It definitely helps!

I am going to trust his video, since we have the same year and model of truck - 2010 TRD OR Auto.
I also commented on the video about his rear locker anytime mod, since I didnt see that in his under dash wiring, but he didnt do it because it didnt work.

I was given some stock u-bolts to use as they have some bends in them already. Hopefully that will work with shifter routing. Did you end up using the stock shifter from the FJ case with the dampener? or replace that with a bed bolt like he had?

@IvanhoeTaco it looks like you were able to keep the stock dampener with your swap back in 2019. How's it holding up?

No reason not to start with his wire colors. I'm an auditor so "trust but verify" is just something I operate on.

I put a marlin case in front of my FJ case, went with triple sticks and can't offer much advice on the single J setup for an auto. All I had to do was bend my shifters between my sliders using the handle off my jack. You have some tight, intricate bends for the auto to get around the console shifter, but someone here has the details you need.

Dampener, what do you mean by that, my brain is fried today.

Either way, the swap has been great over the years with plenty of use!

Oh yeah I definitely did. I used a bellow on the hole as well as stuffed a t-shirt in there to dampen sound. Quiet as it can be

I have a LX470 shifter boot. Haven't gotten the boot for the interior yet* Later down the road I plan to add sound deadening. Just not now
