    Another false bottom hiding spot. 'Cuz every once in a while, one has to hide something. Like a pay check from the wife or what not.
    I lifted the felt liner from the bottom to use as a stencil...

    I cut a piece of 3/8 inch foam core to fit. I measured several items to check for fit. I then cut small corner pieces to raise the foam core to the right height. I then cut a thin piece of foam to line the bottom of the console, to keep from scratching things like pay checks...

    Stash the item to be kept out of sight, place the foam core over it, then the original felt liner...

    Slightly flawed logic. I've bent a steal rim badly enough that it couldn't be used anymore. That's what a spare tire is for. Nothing is un-breakable and lots of people don't need super hardcore gear to get out and enjoy off roading. I have loads of friends who rock crawl with 37"-42" tires and use alloy wheels with no problems.

    Nice! You could take that a step farther and cut out the center portion of the foam and just leave the perimeter. That way you could stash larger things. Just a thought. Looks good.

    It's just an extendable ice scraper. It extends onto those black nubs then I tighten it down. It works even better now with the net.

    The points where you mounted the bar on the side-wall are what I was most curious about. How did you go about mounting them? What parts did you use? that sort of info would be handy.

    [​IMG] ok so i technically have almost $200 in this bumper, metal and paint and grinding disk, but i had to buy 20' pieces, which means i have enough to build another one (except the skid plate which was donated scrap from a local fab shop i had connection with) so $100 for a full metal 3/16 front bumper. Pretty frugal

    I got some D-rings from the hardware store and screwed them right to the bed. The nubs, I have no idea where I got those but they fit on the bar perfect. You could probably use some stacked up washers or something and get the same effect.

    Looks good! Wish I had a welder and tools to work metal.
