Nice! This always annoy me when filling up also. How sad we even have to do this after paying so much for these trucks.

 

That's how they get ya... cut out all the nickle and dime parts that no one notices.

By the pictures, it looks like you might be able to close the fuel door without removing it from the clip and screwing it back in. If that's the case, that's a nice safety "feature" that makes you remember (for the duller tools in the shed) to screw the fuel cap when closing the fuel door.

Might be wrong though.

 

I don't think the angles match up for closing it like that.. but hear you on the dull tools... lol

and my handle isn't that unique but the flip and the way I have it mounted is

 

Nice work just keep in mind the bed and frame like to move different ways sometimes. Its because the frame flexes and the bed is bolted strait to the frame but the cab is attached by rubber body mounts.

That tailgate is cool, i looked at the release handle inside then had to go back to see the tailgate "COOL"

 

Oh nice! Yeah I thought it was attached to the lid also

 

I found some PVC rod holders at Academy on clearance for $4.00, Had some scrap pieces of wood and couple rattle cans of black. Went to Lowes for the hardware and here you go. Worked out very well especially for my surf rod holders.

custom cut from pvc cost less than $3.00 for front and back.

 

If I ever get a rack I would go that route. Nice set up
