Lets see your plow setups

Fisher HS on my 03 winter truck. Thought about the trailer hitch type but went with this instead. Put my cap back on it and 300 lbs of sandbags by the tailgate and it does pretty good. Like everything else there is the learning curve on how to best do your driveway.

 

I have the Meyer Home Plow. It uses the front hitch setup. The only negative is the wheels that the plow rests on when not on the truck are too small. Upgraded to 3" polymer wheels . Setup and removal are easy.
It's a steel plow, hydraulics for up/down and left/right. Sturdy and durable without the weight of a standard Western or Meyer plow.

Bought my snowsport rear mounted plow when I was quoted $700 for the season for a plow contract for my longer driveway. Will pay for itself in 2 seasons! Only downside is my slightly larger tires and off road bumper make the plow sit higher in plowing position, so it leaves about an inch of coverage after the fact. Not the worst thing for traction purposes (versus ice)

Its nice when it first snows , but there after when the reality of life
In the snow sets in , it Sucks . Waiting on the 3rd or 4th storm / nor easter to come calling
On friday , in balmy upstate ny .

 

I have a Boss HTX-V in my 2019 Sport and it works great! I use it commercially with no issues, it’s an expensive setup but to me it was worth it.

 

Sounds like a good reason to remove it…

 

Do you have a lift in that truck they told me I can’t put on on mine with a 6 inch lift on stick tires.

 

A six inch lift? The lower A frame on the plow is supposed to be parallel with the ground.

 

I have been contemplating installing one of these, but with a slimline front bumper I'm not sure about the ability of mounting either a front receiver or the required .brackets

 

Jesus. How big are some of your driveways where you are installing plows just for your personal driveway!?

 

My dad just put one on his gmc. His driveway is about a mile long.

 

Lucky. I don’t even think my neighborhood street is that long.

 

No one said it had to be a Taco plow set up.

I am considering this setup for myself, my business has a small parking lot that I have just used a snowblower in the past but getting older makes that less desirable. How has this setup been holding up for you? Any issues with plowing uneven pavement or over small potholes?

 

That has to absolute hell on a tacoma.

Poly plows probably aren't too bad weight wise on these trucks. Probably not as effective as a steel plow but it'll push snow just fine.
