All that gorgeous amber, and you went with yellow fogs? The Lamin-X orange lense stickies match my DRL's almost perfectly.

    Your headlights are sick.

Sorry, I meant like it would be easier to watch a video on how it's done because you can see what they are doing. Here's a good one.

    Can't believe I haven't seen this thread!!

RX350 projectors with clear lens, Osram Nighbreaker Laser bulbs, Hella Gen 3 ballasts, Turbine shrouds and Profile halos behind the shrouds. I chose to keep the chrome reflector and painted the shroud. I think it adds a black chrome look and doesn't just look like a solid color, kind of an OEM+ look to it. I also run the halos running light in amber (which also blinks with the turn signal) since it's unique compared to most cars having white now.

Clean. How did you wire your switch back to work like that ? I wonder if you can make the white come on only in park. And amber only in turn signal only.

Thanks! I just used a standard 12V relay. I can't remember what I connected to each post on the relay at this point but I have it written down somewhere. But I think they are currently wired like you say: as long as I have the ignition switched on, the halos are on in white. When I use the turn signal, they flash in amber. When I turn on the headlights, the halos turn off but they will still flash amber if I use turn signals with the headlights on.

I'm deciding if I want to so this to my 07 tacoma. But I live in a high snow area. And from what I hear most LED light replacements cake up with highway ice and slush because they don't produce any heat. I's this a real thing? Or just spoon fed whining?

About a year ago, maybe a little more, one of the in-line components in the wiring for one of the halos went bad (I believe they're in line resistors). I emailed Retrofit Source, they warrantied it by sending me new wiring. So, the halos themselves are still going strong and perfect, as is the rest of the headlight setup.

Did you have to unseal the light to fix it? I’m thinking about using the same shroud as you

No, it was just the wiring / wiring components. Since the halo its self was fine no unsealing needed

If you want the switchback to function then you have to disable the DTRL circuit by cutting the wire or depinning it, it's on here somewhere. Then for the WHITE illumination wire you have to connect that to an ignition source that is on when the key is on using a fuse tap. A relay isn't necessarily needed as the the fuse tap is fused and switchback's run very low amperage. The AMBER illumination wire you simply tap into the blinker wire from each side.

This is from another member here that does retrofits that may help you make the process a little easier.

What he is referring to is to have the halo's function as I have mine in that they are illuminated white for DTRL's, flash amber for turn signal then turn off when the headlights turn on. That's where the need for a relay comes in. Also, my truck did not have DTRL stock, so I didnt have to mess with disconnecting that which is why it was not part of my wiring job.

Cleaning my workbench yesterday I found the wiring notes. This is specifically how I used the relay to run the halos such that they turn on when the key is turned on (switched ignition source) and turn off when I turn the headlights on, then turn back on when I turn the headlights off.

12V relays are a standard part and all 5 terminals are specifically named, as such these notes will work for any standard 12V relay:

    Pin 30: switched source
    Pin 85: chasis ground
Pin 86: headlight source / signal
    Pin 87: not used
    Pin 87a: halo 12V supply

    Hope this helps!

Heres a quick pic of the where / how I mounted the relays. The orange one is the Morimoto relay that comes with the morimoto wiring kit for the headlights, then the relay for the halos

Stupid question but I’m going to ask, is it ok to run your halos/demon eyes while headlights are on?
