    A few years back, I drove down I-5 and over Tehachapi Pass to visit my brother in Ridgecrest, CA. Leaving there, I went across Death Valley via Trona. First picture is after leaving Trona and heading down into the Panamint Valley, next is heading down into DV, and the last was after climbing out of DV, on the way to Beatty NV and then N. on Hwy.93 to Jackpot. A lot nicer drive than I-5, both take me two days driving solo. The only trouble on the trip was a tank of not so great gas in Redding.

    It was a bit over 2,800 miles. I made it from Seattle to Modesto (to visit 2nd Cousin) the first day of the trip south, and from Ridgecrest to Jackpot on the first day on the way home. It's a long drive, followed by another long drive from Jackpot to Seattle in one more day. IMO, I-5 sux. :taco: Steve
