    hahaha, yes. I upload MANY pictures to Google Maps; I'm considered a "Local Guide" and get all sorts of offers and beta invites because of it. I started out doing it to keep track of what I'd eaten at various places, but then I started updating details like HOURS and whatnot so that I'd have a better idea of when places around me are open or not. Yes, I had purely selfish reasons when I started contributing to Google Maps, but knew that others would benefit too...
