Made a very last minute call with a buddy and headed up to Big Bear for a quick overnighter.

    DSC00099.jpg
We spent most of our time on the backside of Big Bear overlooking the pines on our right and the desert floor to our left. The winds were crazy and it rocked the truck the whole time, which was a little unsettling being that we were often on the side of a cliff!

    DSC00129.jpg
We found a quiet and secluded spot out of the ripping wind.

    DSC00198.jpg
Cooked some quick dinner and settled in for a cold night, even in May, the temperatures dropped below freezing!

    DSC00206.jpg
Got up early the next morning and continued South along the backside of the mountains.

    DSC00280.jpg

    DSC00283.jpg
We jumped back into the pines and headed down to the lake.

    DSC00286.jpg
We worked our way west, finding some fun trails to connect us back to Big Bear city.

    DSC00311.jpg
We ended our trip with a great view and some authentic German grub from a local deli.

How are the roads up there? Thinking about taking my prerunner up there in a few weeks. are they allowing fires right now? Nice pictures

The roads are pretty dusty but not terrible, you should be fine in a prerunner on most trails up there, I only needed 4WD a few times on the harder off-shoots. I am pretty sure they don't allow fires up there at any point but don't quote me on that. Thanks man!!
